However for a dentist - damage to the hands is pretty serious...I mean in the real world, there's a chance she could never practice again or would need tons of therapy to do so.

But this is one of YHM ki superwomen (and a tv show, so any realism is shown within a very short period of time)...so I am interested to see how long until her hands will heal!
