YOU HAVE TO CRAWL FOR ME

Abhimanyu's arm came around her, squeezing and holding her steady as he urged her away. She could barely see through her tears. She was so angry and upset that she was shaking who would know few hours ago a girl who was so happy was crying now she and Manik were together at his house so happy cuddling together when Abhimanyu and Cabir walked in leaving them shocked and when they asked Manik does he love her? He stood quite not a word she begged him to speak but he stood there. Abimanyu and Cabir took her towards the elevator. Halfway there she turned to see Manik staring at her, that distant, vacant expression on his face, it just pissed her off all the more. She wiped at the tears trailing down her cheeks determined she wouldn't shed another single tear over him. She'd thought he was worth it. Her pride which she had everything she lost it. She was wrong. "If you ever decide you want me back? You're going to have to crawl." This time she turned and pulled free of Abhimanyu's and cabir's grasps. She walked away by her own choice and got into the elevator, not even looking back as the doors closed behind her.

That was none other than Nandini's Murthy the girl who loved Manik Malhotra with all her heart but when she asked him to confess his love in front of his friends her brother Abhimanyu and cabir but he didn't he stood there seeing her cry, her heart broke into pieces but she stood strong and left him. 2 months secret relationship they shared every bit of it and he just didn't have the courage when the time came to announce in front of his friends and her brother he stood there just looking at her with no expression at all. She begged him to speak up speak for them but he just stood there not saying anything, that moment she realized he was such a coward who can't even fight for her though he used to say that you mean the world to me he knew she was his best friend's sister yet he wanted her to be with him because she was the one who made him feel again she was the one who bought the light inside of him which was lost in the darkness. But he failed her, failed everything he let the darkness take over again and left her pleading.

She reached to see Mukti and Navya waiting for her and seeing her in that state "What happened Nandini?" Mukti asked softly. "Bhai and Cabir found out about me and Manik and when I asked Manik to confess he said he didn't love me it was all my imagination" Mukti and Navya's eyes were wide and then they narrowed in disgust. "WHAT THE HELL THAT SON OF A B**** how dare he do this and you were about to tell Abhi and Cabir right?" asked Navya Nandini slowly nodded. "He stood there and lied to me Navya I know he has feelings for me and he stood there and gave me this bullshit about how I was getting too emotionally involved, blah-blah and this was only a fling never love" "Don't worry nandini he will pay for it he has to" said Mukti patting on her back "yes Nandini believe me he will pay" said Navya. And Nandini just stood up and moved to her room because her heart was just paining too much to handle.

Manik sat near the fire place lot in his thoughts; he loved her as deeply as it was possible to love another person. And God, he wanted her every day in his life. How many ways could a man ruin the best thing that had ever happened to him? Nandini was so right when her words had hit him right in the gut. She was the best thing that had ever happened to him. He didn't need time or space to realize that. He should have never let her walk out of his apartment with Abhimanyu and Cabir. When she'd knelt before him and begged him to explain to Abhimanyu, he should have spoken up then. She was right. He hadn't fought for her. He had been too numb, too consumed with guilt over what he allowed to happen. Fear squeezed his chest. It was an alien sensation, new and overwhelming. What if Nandini wouldn't forgive him? What if she wouldn't take him back?

Next morning Manik was settled in his office waiting for Abhimanyu to come. He, Cabir and Abhimanyu were business partners and best friends too. His P.A informed him that Abhimanyu have arrived "we need to talk" said Manik as he walked in his office "I don't want to talk to you" said Abhimanyu "I screwed up man" said Manik "so you will put it this way now" said Abhimanyu folding his hands and looking at him "I want to kill you right now for screwing up my sister Manik how could you do that" "I love her Abhi" said Manik softly "really you have a funny way of showing it man" said Abhi "I know I am sorry I really love her and I want her back in my life please understand" said Manik in a pleading way the guy whose attitude was everything was pleading "Manik the girls who were always after you who use to throw themselves onto you Nandini is not them, she's different and she deserves a man who will stand up for her and fight for her you didn't do any of those things, and she's not going to so easily forget that" "Don't you think I know all of that?" Manik said in frustration. "Hell I wouldn't blame her if she never wanted to speak to me again but I have to try I can't just let her go" "God Manik you never like to do anything simple do you? I can't believe that I actually feel sorry for you're a** right now" said Abhi making Manik relax a bit "I'm sorry Bro I handled this all wrong you have to know that I'd never do anything to intentionally compromise our friendship and I damn sure wouldn't ever do anything to hurt Nandini if she'll forgive me I'll spend the rest of my life making sure she never has reason to cry again" said Manik with determination "That's all I want for her" Abhi said softly "I want her to be happy If you can do that, then you and I are good" hearing this made Manik so happy "I'm damn sure going to try" Manik said, determination gripping him. "Good luck" Abhi said. "Something tells me you're going to need it" And winks at him.

The next whole week Nandini's house was filled with flowers all having the same note

She was hell frustrated though she loved them but she still was unable to forgive Manik the pain was not healed but he was not stopping at all. Another day she and Mukti were out shopping when a guy came to her with a bouquet when nandini decided to throw it he took the card and read out loud

Forgive me. I can't live without you.

Making nandini angrier everyone was looking at them and Mukti was just smiling sheepishly. Today another delivery person had brought in a box with a pair of fur-lined leather gloves and a note card that read:

To keep your hands warm on the walk home.

Mukti and Navya were laughing seeing Manik going all Majnu and Nandini was getting more and more irritated and when they told this to Abhi and Cabir they were also smiling but seeing Nandini they faked angered to keep Nandini calm.

The weather had cleared up, but the cold had remained. The skies were bright blue without a cloud in sight and the wind blew gusty through her coat. She was grateful for the gloves it was getting colder. Dusk was descending, each day growing shorter and shorter. As she rounded the corner to walk the last block to her apartment, an electronic billboard top of a hotel caught her eye. How could it not? In big, neon letters, flashing across the screen was:

I LOVE YOU, NANDINI COME HOME

MANIK

Tears pricked her eyelids. What was she supposed to do? He'd never said he loved her. Was it emotional manipulation for him to air his feelings to the world? And to put it on this billboard, by her apartment, where she couldn't possibly miss the meaning? Come home. Not to her apartment but to him. It was driving her crazy. He was driving her crazy. And yet he hadn't attempted to confront her directly again. Since that day when she left his apartment but he was still there in her heart always reminding her of his presence. She was utterly baffled by this side of Manik. It was a side he'd never allowed her to see or say anyone to see.

She leaned resting her head on the pillow could still feel his warmth surrounding her. God, she missed him. Was her pride worth them both being miserable? Did he truly love her, and did he want another chance for them? All the indicators were there, but she was afraid to trust him. Afraid to give him that chance again when he'd hurt her so badly by not fighting for her in the first place. On the other hand Manik went to meet Abhimanyu "hey Manik what's up" "I want some help from you" said Manik "what is it?" asked Abhimanyu "I want you to be with Nandini the today n tomorrow keep her distracted and happy I need her by Saturday night because that's when I'm going to crawl for her" Abhimanyu lifted his eyebrows in surprise. "What?" Manik looked at him "I've got a ring to buy this weekend and other arrangements to make. All you have to do is have her at London eye Monday night by the Christmas tree. Don't f**k this up Abhimanyu. I don't care if you have to carry her. You make damn sure she's there" said Manik with his entire attitude.

The days passed Nandini didn't hear from Manik no bouquets no other surprises she was missing him she wanted to see him but he was nowhere not even a single call has he lost all hope? Has he forgotten about her? Nandini had all these thoughts in her mind. The girls and guys kept her busy thoroughly but she didn't need them she was in need of him and him only. It was Monday night and Abhi was so keen to take her out she tried asking him many times "Where are we going?" she asked in exasperation. "That's for us to know and you to find out" Abhimanyu said sheepishly. He, Cabir, Mukti and Navya looked like kids at Christmas. When they pulled up in front of London eye she gasped in pleasure at the enormous lighted tree towering on the way. It was so beautiful, and it made her go back in flashbacks of Manik and others how they use to come here every year. They'd never missed a lighting "Oh bhai" she whispered as he pulled her from the car. "It's as beautiful as ever" Abhimanyu smiled at her, and then they walked all together towards the crowd gathered around the tree. The trees loomed over them, a glow with thousands and thousands of colored lights. Christmas music filled the air. And then a melodious sound as a man began to sing "kiss me like you wanna be by Ed Sheeran" "There's a concert?" Nandini asked in excitement as she turned to Abhimanyu. He smiled and nodded and then urged her toward the front. Surprisingly, no one protested their cutting in front of others, and in fact, a group made room for them at the very front near the stage. "this is perfect" Nandini exclaimed but hearing the song reminded her of him this was the song her favorite song when they shared their first kiss all this time she wanted him here by her side holding her hand keeping her safe. The song ended and the singer began talking to the crowd and she realized he took her name making her look at the singer.

"Nandini Murthy" the man said. "Manik Malhotra wants you to know how much he loves you and how much he wants for you to be in his life forever but don't take my word for it here is the man himself to tell you in person" Her mouth gaped open when Manik appeared at the end of the aisle. His gaze was fixed on her, and in his hands he carried a brightly wrapped box. The crowd around her cheered as Manik came near and stood in front of her and went down on one knee "Merry Christmas Nandini" he said in a husky voice. "I'm sorry I was such an idiot. I should have never let you walk away from me. You are my life you took the darkness away from me and bought the light you gave me happiness that I never had and I screwed it up just give me a chance and I swear you won't regret it I will love you every single day of my life till the day I die" she had no idea what to say how to respond Tears welled from her eyes towards her face "I LOVE YOU" he said fiercely. "I love you so damn much that it hurts when I am not with you I don't ever want to be apart from you I want you in my life always I want you to marry me I want forever with you" He held out the box to her and she took it with trembling fingers she tried to take the top off Inside was a velvet jewelry box. Around her flashes went off people with cell phones were recording the moment there were loud cheers and yells of encouragement but she shut everything out as the man in front of her stood there nothing else mattered. She opened the box to see a gorgeous diamond ring nested inside. She was awe struck as she saw it then she glanced down at the man on his knees in front of her. He was begging her with his eyes. God, but he was crawling. "Oh Manik" She went to her knees in front of him so they were on the same level. She threw her arms around his shoulders still holding on to the box with the ring. "I LOVE YOU" she breathed. "I love you so much I don't want to be without you" He grasped her and pulled her into a hug, his eyes filled with love and only love.

He took the box from her hand and pulled the ring then he picked up her left hand and slid the glittering diamond onto her third finger. The crowd erupted around them, and Manik pulled her into his embrace, his mouth crashed on her as his lips took her into a beautiful allowing his tongue to explore her mouth they were kissing each other hungrily without leaving he bit my lower lip making my moan. Both were fighting for dominance without moving apart. It was one moment she'd never want to forget as long as she lived. She always dreamed of having kids, babies with Manik and then she realized she had no idea if he even wanted children. "I want babies" she blurted out. Then she blushed wildly as she realized how far her voice had carried in the crowd. There was laughter around them and one called out loudly "Give them to her" Manik smiled and blushed his expression so tender that it melted her heart and warmed her "I want babies too" he said huskily. "Daughters as beautiful as you are" She smiled with all the love for the man in front of her "I love you Nandini" he said "I'm going to love you forever. Our life will be filled with love and only love and we will live as you wanted a dreamy life" Tears leaked down her cheeks as she stared back at the man who said out loud his love to her half of London. "I love you too Manik" she said softly. He slowly stood and then lowered his hand to help her to her feet. Then he pulled her into his embrace and held on tightly and twirls her around making her laugh "Nandini finally I got my life".

She turned around to see everyone staring at them with awe she totally forgot about them "BHAI" she said and ran to his arms "happy?" he asks she hugged him tight "more than anything thank you bhai" "anything for you kiddo" said Abhi, she moved to hug Cabir "so kids huh Manik too fast man me and Navya have only been engaged and so has mukti and abhi but you guys direct kids" said cabir making him chuckle and nandini blush "Cabir stop it man" said Manik with a glare nandini moved to hug Navya and Mukti "so happy girl told you Manik Malhotra will learn his lesson and you made him crawl I must say fab job done" they all laughed making Manik look down he seem like a total kid nandini moved and pulled his cheeks Manik took her in his arms and kissed her forehead "so guys babies now or later?" said Cabir "Cabir not another word" said Manik without looking at him as his eyes were on nandini "okay fine only on one condition you will make me the god father" as he said this Navya became happy "then I will be god mother" Abhi shouted "hell no that's my place I am the kid's uncle so I will be god father" "and so am I, his or her aunt so we will be god parents" said Mukti. Nandini rolled her eyes and squeezed herself into Manik's side as all four of them arguing. Manik tightened his hold around her waist. He smiled down at her his love shining brighter than the glow of the Christmas tree "What do you say we go home and practice giving them a baby to fight over?" said Manik making Nandini blush and she hit him on his chest.

And they lived happily ever after...
