Why did Tamasha under-perform,unlike Piku Badlapur

Why do you think the movie Tamasha under-performed? It got good reviews, performances were excellent, and the movie had a message. It wasn't technically slick and neither did it have a good screenplay like Piku or Badlapur, but in terms of content it surely had something more meaningful to say than either of these 2 movies.

Also A.R. Rahman's music was a plus point. Deepika and Ranbir pitched in wonderful performances.

So why do you think it couldn't become a hit like Piku Badlapur? Bcoz of d budget of d movie which was overblown? Or Ranbir's waning star power?

Because Piku and Badlapur were better films..Also because Shoojit Sircar and Sriram Raghavan are better directors than Imtiaz Ali 😆 Great performances don necessarily make for a great film..Ranbir and Deepika were good but the film was annoying esp. the first half..Hirani made a million times more entertaining and relatable film on the same subject of following your dreams 😆

Tamasha's budget was pretty high as well as compared to Piku.

Even I am thinking that?? How come Deepu Rani who made CE and HNY hits couldn't save Tamasha??😕

She was only in the first half and a few scenes in second half...her role was under-written as well, compared to Ranbir's...

I'm waiting for Tamasha online links...I have heard some good things about the movie from my friends and sister...and after reading few posts here and there I think it might not be as bad as it is being projected...

I think many didnt understand the plot, as it was little dark and complicated.I really loved the movie, but thats the case with the movie.Either you will love it,or hate it, there's no middle way.I dont think actors are the one to blame here, rk and dp did a fabulous job
