International singer Mr Big to perform with Indian Idol second runner-up Amit Paul in Shillong

The name Eric Martin may not ring a bell, but Mr Big surely brings back pleasant musical notes to your memory. Remember the hit songs of the early nineties 'I'm The One Who Wants To Be With You' and 'Wild World'? Yes, they were 'big' hits and the band behind these melodious tracks will be coming to India for a performance in Shillong on October 27. Comprising Billy Sheehan, Pat Torpey Paul Gilbert and Eric Martin, this is the first time the band will be touring India.

Eric says he can't wait to be in Shillong after his good friend CJ Snare of Firehouse told him that the band's Shillong gig in 2003 was one of their most memorable concerts ever because the crowd in attendance "merrily sang along word to word and tune for tune".

Besides the fact that the band agreed to have their first Indian concert in the lesser known Shillong, what is even more interesting is the fact that the band has happily agreed to share the stage with Indian Idol second runner-up who has taken the state by storm — Amit Paul. Amit will join the legendary singer in a duet of for two numbers. Will it be a case of 'Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the BIGgest of us all?
