Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are set to sizzle on silver-screen once again with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani. This has been Bhansali's pet project for a very long time. Apparently, the film was announced in 2002-'03, and the director wanted to rope in the then love birds Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai who were together in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. However, after their much hyped break-up news, Sanjay could not cast them. Interestingly, Salman, the original choice for the role, recently, while expressing his views on the film's first look and teaser, said, I feel unfortunate to not be part of Bajirao Mastani.I have seen the promo of it (Bajirao Mastani) ...it has been done on a large scale. I think all three - Ranveer, Priyanka and Deepika are amazing."
So, when Ranveer was asked on what he had to say to Salman's response, the Bajirao Mastani star stated, "I know Salman Sir was supposed to play Bajirao, but I have worked really hard for the film and I hope I can make him proud."
And as we'll know, that Salman is never one to mince words, he says as it is. While attributing Ranveer's statement as part of promotional gimmick for the film, he remarked jokingly, "Just something more to talk about during promotions...one more question for the PR team to tell the journalist to ask..." Ranveer, are you listening?
