Shahid Kapoor opts out of AK v/s SK

After the failure of Shaandaar, Shahid Kapoor is being careful about his future projects. We've found out that the actor has walked out of his next film, Vikramaditya Motwane's AK/SK. Reason being that he doesn't want to do risky films. From what we hear, earlier too Sasha was not sure about AK v/s SK but friend Madhu Mantena convinced him to do the film. A source close to the star tells us that after the debacle of Shaandaar, Shahid called up Madhu and told him that it's not a wise decision to do a risky film like AK v/s SK because there's nothing much to do in it for him. Madhu apparently was shocked to hear this from Shahid and held a meeting with the actor to convince him to do the film. But looks like Shahid is in no mood to change his mind and will rather leave for a brief holiday with wife Mira Rajput. The actor had even shot for a day for the film.

The plot of AK v/s SK revolves around a Bollywood star's tryst with stardom. The makers had recently roped in filmmaker Anurag Kashyap to play the antagonist opposite Shahid's character. The two were to play themselves in the film, Shahid as SK and Anurag as AK.

Now atleast producers won't loose money and Shahid can blame his script supervisors for not doing this movie if it becomes hit. 😆

I just find it extremely unprofessional and a decision taken in haste. Just because Shaandaar bombed, he's going back over his decisions? Meaning he was never 100% confident about them?

It's disheartening to see the way he's handling his career as a fan. Post Haider I expected huge things from him. It's bad to start shooting for a movie and then abandon it.

^The facts are clear. I don't see anything wrong with him walking out. Shaandaar was supposed to be the 'it' project for Shahid. What happened?
Didn't we hear many times that while shooting actors get a sense of how the movie will turn out to be anyway? It's not like he walked away before giving it a chance ... he shot for it ... He probably went over it again and decided against.

Plus the movie was already getting negative reviews anyway. Shanatics don't seem to be disheartened by the news either. They are more interested in Rangoon/UP. 😆 Maybe when he comes back form holiday ... he'll probably sign more projects.

He signed the movie, started shooting for it - backing out now IS unprofessional. Either take your time while reading a script before signing it or once you commit to doing something. JUST DO IT. There are loads of other people involved in a movie as well. If the lead actor just drops out, it puts people's jobs at stake and makes for huge wastage of resources. And why are "Shanatics" happy about this news? Vikramaditya Motwane is an acclaimed director - he's the man behind Udaan and Lootera. At this point, if anything, we've seen that Shahid THRIVES on critically-acclaimed films/performaces and he should gear away from the commercial potboilers, so this is a disappointment from my end at least.

I don't think it's unprofessional. Unless he eats their money along with. Is it worth an other flop? I don't think so... But hey hold your horses, DNA's denying the news. So you might get lucky. Plus, I didn't say Shanatics are happy...I said they aren't disappointed. 😛

I am ok with this...as Phantom folks don't seem to be in the right frame of mind...they all are riding high & self-indulgent...Vikas with Shaandaar...Anurag with BV...ultimately the decision is Shahid's...he can't become a scapegoat for people who are not serious...

thankfully he has a great lineup with UP & Rangoon...Hope they fulfill their promise...😳
