The Indian Television Academy (ITA) has created a TV fraternity song celebrating the glory of television. Over 70 celebrities have collaborated on this anthem written by Javed Akhtar, set to music by Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy, directed by Ken Ghosh and sung by Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shankar and Mahalaxmi. It is a rhyme in praise of the medium that has become an inseparable part of the life of a layman.
Said Anu Ranjan, president of the ITA, "Television today has an identity of its own and is no more secondary to Bollywood. Today, it creates a series of high-voltage emotions, unbounded surges of music and dance and electrifies sentiments through news and reporting. In this song, the creators appear and sing in unison about the self-confidence and self-possession of the television industry. Hence, it also highlights the unity of the TV fraternity."
The participants in the song includes the likes of Shatrughan Sinha, Jackie Shroff, Poonam Dhillon, She-khar Suman, Javed Akhtar, Pankaj Kap-oor, Kanwaljeet Singh, Neena Gupta, Rakesh Bedi, Mukesh Khanna, Archana Puran Singh, Annu Kapoor, Pallavi Joshi, Sandhya Mridul, Rohit Roy, Mansi Niki Aneja, Achint Kaur Pooja Madan and others apart from VJs.
