Bitter
"Swara
zid maat karo aur dawai khaa lo." Sanskaar pushed the spoon full of the dark red cough syrup towards his wife, irritation beginning to creep up on him because of her tantrums.
"Nayi!" Swara looked the other way, refusing for the fifth time now.
"What is your problem Swara?" Sanskaar asked highly irritable. "Do you want to get better or not?"
"I'm not a small child that you can emotionally manipulate me into taking the medicine Sanskaar." Swara reproached him, with her hands on her hips. Then scrunching up her face in disgust, "It's so bitter and... bleeehh." Swara shivered and shook her head to show her distaste.
Sanskaar took a deep sigh. "Fine. If you're so set on being stubborn then there's nothing that I can do about it. But don't forget that so am I." He challenged, looking at her directly in the eye.
"What are you gonna do about it huh?" Swara asked, provoking him even more.
"This." Sanskaar leaned in and kissed her on the cheek.
Swara gasped in shock, not expecting him to take that approach. Using the opportunity at hand, Sanskaar shoved the spoon full of medicine into her mouth before she could protest. Swara cringed at the taste and shut her eyes. Taking the spoon out, Sanskaar offered her a glass of water which she graciously accepted by gulping it all down.
The bitter medicine was down, but Sanskaar knew that the bitter attitude was yet to come.
