Bhabho's sense of betrayal' has had me wondering for a long time...Is it because Sandhya is a woman first, a daughter-in-law first - that she should have NOT thought of her country above and all? Is it not weird that Bhabho holds the view that marriage divides a woman's duties towards her job? I ask her only one question - since she has so definitely two sets of rules for sons' and daughters-in-law' - had it been her dear chhora Sooraj who was an IPS officer and had done exactly what Sandhya has done (gone on a secret mission to save the country and letting the family think that he died') - and then one day would have come back after the successful completion of his mission - what then? Let us imagine that Sandhya would have lost mental balance in her grief and there would come a man who would put his own life at stake to cure her - would Bhabho be in a hurry to get her beendni marry this guy? And when the son returned, would she be adamant in not allowing him to enter the house as the man who has cured the beendni has more right to marry her now? Of course we know this woman Bhabho is selfish to the core - just look at how Mohit and Emily are treated in the family. No prizes for guessing that the return of a dead' son would have found high praises and a hero's welcoming - but nothing but insults for daughter-in-law?
I know the serials need drama to survive..but can't the writers' spare some thought to women's dignity?
