The story was good,but I feel casting Salman for a role like this,wasn't a right choice!I felt Salman was overacting,he was adorable in some portions,but overall his performance wasn't up to the mark!And a role like this needs a more mature actor,which was lacking in Salman that time!But Bebo and Jacky were good in their roles!And the director could handle this subject more sensibly!So in my opinion maybe these are the reasons why the film couldn't work 😊

Its a remake of a Malayalam classic. Not even 30% of the original, though made with better looking actors. I think Salman's performance was decent (compared to other films).

Music was good. Particularly the title track. People don't expect good films from Salman. They want entertainment from him. Had Bajrangi Bhaijaan released those years (2001 to 2009), people would have skipped it. This year too, people went for entertainment and got a good film as bonus.

Lovely movie it was.. Salman was decent and Kareena and their chemistry.. WOW ..

I have no idea why such good films become flops.. 🤔

Probably because Salman could not bring out the subtle nuances of the character. If you had watched the original.. The hero would bring out the nuances well.. Putting Salman in Mohan lal's role was utter foolishness.

It was an Awesome movie . And Salman was BRILLIANT in it . Even Bebo , Jacky , Om Puri Sir all were very good . Songs were very popular & lovely too .

It didn't do much well coz of the ENDING PART . It's a record that Whereever Salman's character died ..The Film never did well on BO . Audience never expected Salman to die onscreen . They always loved him too much for that . Even Salman said the same thing to Priyadarshan(Dir of Kyonki) before release to change the Ending ..But He didn't listen ..& So Audience rejected the movie . Later on (After the release) Priyadarshan himself called Salman to say that How Salman was right to suggest the change but he didn't listen to him .
