The merging of the two shows is purely to increase TRPs. As indicative in any show when there is a marriage track happening, TRPs go high immediately because in Indian Television, wedding = high drama. There are lots of opportunities to create trouble for the main leads and tension in whether or not they will be united.

As for the marriage itself, it is evident that Twinkle/Kunj are to get married; with or without Sid's help. The reason why I'm so excited to see Sid enter the show is because it's going to give him a chance to interact with new characters, be involved in a new situation and expand his horizons and knowledge/experience.

Yes, TEI is a new show but that does not mean that it does not deserve a chance to prosper. Nia and Ravi have been in the acting industry for a much longer time than the main actors/actresses involved in TEI. It is bound to take them time to improve on their skills.

As for the Maha Sangam itself, I had assumed that it was going to be merely one episode as most Maha Episodes are. But if that's not the case this time around, then it will be very interesting to see how it plays out. This is the first time that I will be seeing a merging of two shows for a whole week. Again, this provides ample opportunity for the characters to be involved in new situations and learn something.

I understand that Sid has his own problems to take care of, but if he goes to help someone else, that indicates that he has taken care of Roshni's jail situation. It will be illogical for him to go save someone else's wedding when his own is being endangered with his wife being held behind bars.

Again, I am the odd one out here and I am totally fine with that as I will be enjoying the Maha Sangam week immensely due to the merging of two of my favorite shows.
