Talent proved by singing classical?

Do you think a singer's worth can only be proved by singing classical songs? If they can sing classical, they can sing anything? What songs do you think of when you hear "difficult song"? 😃

I think everyone should hold high regards for Classical music as it is the roots of music; its where it all started from. However, I would slightly disagree that a singer's worth can only be proved by singing classical. If a singer is talented enough he/she can prove themself in any genre.
Having said that, I also know that one cannot help but feel impressed when someone has exceeded good results in classical singing. Its not an extreme necessity, but in my view its an extremely big plus point 😳

I wish we could have a semi-classical/classical round in VOI. We had a theme of the week on semi-classical songs sometime back. VOI singers already proved their talent in many genre of songs. We've heard songs from movies that haven't even released yet.

How about a classical round now with the contest winding down (if there isn't another wildcard round)? Some of the singers are classically trained. With a lot of riyaaz, they could do wonders. It could help the standard of the show, which is dwindling as of late. Three wild card contestants were introduced and all three are capable. So are the real top four contestants.

I agree 😊 It will be quite entertaining and interesting to watch. I really do think it might help with the dwindling standard of the show... even I've been losing intersest in it from a while now... the mess was just too much to bear😕😳
