Well that's the problem of the show biz...not only TV industry but Bollywood is also like that..where heroes never age...so why to blame the actress for it.(/QUOTE] not blaming the actress here but I agree even in Bollywood its the same a female has a sell buy date aka after 30 and when she gets married and then she wnt even be considerd for a movie
I get your point but I meant it more generally a female once she has done a role its rare for her to be in a show where she is a lead again. only a few actresses get that chance and then we get these new shows were there are new actresses who cnt act and an actress who would probably have perfected the character is sitting at home doing nothing. I think its a lot easier for a male to get lead roles after they have been part of a hit show. and I get your comment about freshness and then judging a popular actor on their lead role. for me I have been lucky that my fav have been really good acting wise in their come back shows and so within a few episodes I am able to love the new character and accept him. but then I judge the characters so if the character falls short I am disappointed bt I like good acting more than a character coz good acting can make a simple character special.Originally posted by: -enchanted-
@Bold: If this in reference to my comment let me clarify that I gave example of actress because the topic mentioned about having an established actress. My thoughts and reasoning are same for the actor too, in case of this series as its just 20 episodes long. I haven't followed any of Rahils previous work and the fact that he is coming after a break, makes it easy for me to see and accept him as Chander within a few episodes. Even if my favorite actor was portraying Chanders role right after portraying a popular character, I would have needed the time to let go of his previous roles and start seeing him as Chander. And by then the series would have gotten over. When I talked about freshness I meant it in this sense and particularly for this series, not in the context of actor vs actress.
