This is what Ragini once said to her grandmother. That no matter how off track she goes or what she wears she will always at the end of the day remain her Ragini because of her values.
I think the whole Ragini turning negative track had a reason; Swara & Ragini are two parts of an balanced circled. At the start one was completely innocent, and viewed as the typical idol of innocence at the start (Ragini). The other one was a bit more feisty, back talked a bit, and was fearless. Lets think of them as the Yin and Yang. Which in China is a symbol of a positive and a bit more darker not exactly negative force. Almost like the Night and Day. At first Swara was more of the night aspect more mysterious and Ragini was the daylight crystal clear. However one cannot exist without the other.

Now that gets me to point even the Positive light in the Yin and Yan has a dark spot to show it does have a spark of darkness. The more powerful light the Dark has a white spot to show that it can have the same innocence. I think the Cvs switched the two personalities in the show for a while to show that they can develop, change and grow stronger. Make some (Really bad mistakes 😡) but in the end just like the Yin and Yang theory no matter for how long you spend in that "little dot" you will return to your original form. That's what happened to Ragini. No matter how much SwaRagini change they will always restore and fall back to their original forms. As Ragini said "Mein rahogi toh aapki Ragani hi na?" 😲

Nice analogy and I think perhaps that is what the cvs had in mind but as viewers it kinda falls apart...
Swara was outspoken and as you say feisty.. She followed her mind and had a modern outlook.. All those traits might be considered BOLD as far as the conservative Maheshwaris are concerned but they werent wrong.
Ragini's mistakes went so far that we cant call them mistakes anymore.. Her crimes include attempt to murder, kidnapping and falsely accusing someone of rape and god knows what not.. Things that should have her behind the bars. The question is that is there any redemption for such a character??
Her justification for her actions was on the lines of 'everything is fair in love" but for every rational person, the subconscious mind tells when something is wrong. Everything Ragini did for whatever reasons is not justifiable.. Obviously this is a soap and Ragini will be redeemed but somewhere I think the CVS shouldnt have taken the negativity this far..

The point remains that trying to kill her own sister and saying 'Mein rahogi toh aapki Ragini hi na! doesnt make her positive

True but the real challenge lies now ..
They need to show Ragini's struggle towards acceptance and redemption which should be worse than swara's.
They need to show Lakshya's heart break regrets and stuff before they show his and Ragini's story
They need to show Shekar's redemption
I have no expectations from Dadi🤢😡- so will let that go
