Thank you guys for all your responses, each opening a new window, bringing a new shade, a new angle of viewing, a new level of analysis ...Loved reading each and every one of them...some are a bit different than mine..but still a very interesting read...but we all are united in one thing...we are not happy with the current story...and all hope and pray for an immediate improvement.
Keeping my fingers crossed..but the latest buzz seems to be that all bidding adieu and we are headed towards an end soon?????...Are we being fooled again?? Are we being kept in the dark . yet.again??? Are we celebrating for no reason at all...hoping against hope???...sigh...only time will tell!!

You have pretty much expressed every one of my hesitancies with this news in this post. have been waiting for Manik and MaNan to return, because I simply couldn't watch the show when she as with someone else. I know that one argument by KYY2 viewers is that it happens IRL and 'you don't find your forever at 19' but this is a story about the lucky few that do, so the fact that I couldn't watch her with someone else should not be of any surprise.

I just hope, that with our hero back the story too gets back on track. I have not been impressed with what the current CV has done so far and neither was the rushed season 1 ending as good as it could have been. But I hope that this fan backlash and TRP free fall has taught the PH & Channel that the viewers of this show atleast, demand more then lolipop romance.

We want our love story, but we want it from the strong, stubborn, real, faulty characters that we fell in love with. Give us the perfect love story of our imperfect lovers, as per the original plan. The alternative that seems to be coming is something that you can find in every single story on every single channel on Desi Tv. Be different. Stay different. Respect your viewers intelligence and don't try to mould the characters we fell in love with into something they are not- and the same for this love story. Don't ruin it.

Sigh. Word with everything.

Lets talk S1 Nandini, hot topic and the common thread of the two seasons.

Nandini before the so-called special 70 epiodes was nothing but a Y/A heroine meant to show us a window to feb5 and Manik's world. We had no insight to her emotions , heck we didn't even see her POV about her love till musicana.
People talk about science and music dilemma which btw her own grandmother cleared in those episodes and Nandini picked music on her own.

She was the moral righteous girl who was meant to lecture the guy all the time and he had to listen and open up.

It was only during Musicana that she picked up. They wrote those layers and nuances . Especially when she cried about her heart-break alone and Manik for the first time became our window to her.
Her first punch was generic , it was her second punch that echoed more because it spoke of herself, her "I".

I loved when she walked out on them because of toxic relationship, you know why because rarely you see that - she was overwhelmed , she spoke about her fears about them .

Friendship phase- again, Nandini being rational about her relationship and laying down the foundation.

Usually what people crib about her court thing, I loved it- because it should never be absolute trust. Manik's definition was that but hers was solving problems together. It brought in the anger, trust conflict.

i don't know why people call Nandini naive for Pandit thing- she wasn't. Nobody including Pandit had an idea how bad he had it. She never bought his promises, never his words nor trusted him beyond the teacher boundaries.

PTSD- In a world full of FLs where they get attacked and then immediately have to act out as superheroine , Nandini was broken down, vulnerable .

She is the first FL to be given a voice about her sexual desires , her wants .

Yes, they struggled at times, because her initial sketch was weak.

Not Nandini's fault that the friends she had couldn't sell their character or act properly.

She didn't need tangibles too but her words.

This story was promised to us as fairy-tale and they delivered that love story.

Were there flaws, yes, could more be done there - sure. But Nandini still and wiill always be iconic. RY's Nandini.
Nandini was never jagat mata or the noisy moral compass out to correct the world.

Heck, it's too obvious that Nandu became huge on her own- coz writing.

Now S2

You get a loved character and you suffocate her. Just because you think an off-screen friendship works, you inculcate that to sell a friendship without explaining- the why.

You strip Nandini off her basic traits, push her doing things which she never were up for , making her as the usual generic FL who always was busy cleaning other people's shit- yeah thats her.

White blank canvas willing for another love triangle but this even her "I" s taken away.

S2- sucks because none of the female characters are respected, they are annoying, irritating and heck off-screen is more entertaining,

Story is essential. Parth and Niti can draw up the initial crowd but to hold the show, you need pen, borrow some from Richa.

240+ of a journey with RY's Nandu might have had it's share of ups and downs. But this new Nandini with her freshness and writing couldn't even capitalize on the pity card thrown at her.

How many of us are criticizing S2 on the content but nope the current team be deaf on them , RY listened and respected us.
I still cannot forget how Karishma promoted that intense scene using a hastag and when it aired. 🥱

Genie..this is GOLDEN. WORD to everything u said 🤗

Appreciate your post eveline. I just want to say that MaNan was Richa's concept, not Arzoo not Vishal's and certainty not Karishma's.
Even when Arzoo was there, Richa was writing the script and overseeing MaNan. Arzoo use to help execute MaNan but she mostly focused on Fab 5 screenplay. That is why the flavor of Fab 5 changed when Arzoo left but MaNan was consistent, i.e NYE hug, friendship track, Manik saying "I love Nandini sune tumhe", the soha farmhouse track, the IHU V-DAY, the holi, the breakdown the confession, BD confession, the elegance talk, note is too high, all Richa's. The only times when Nandini faltered was the drag during FC and the week before mangalore track. Otherwise I enjoyed her character, like genie said, it was RY's MaNan, RY's Manik and RY's Nandini, and yes, I have enjoyed watching MaNan inspired and created by this outstanding creative writer Richa. And yes, we should be thankful to this outstanding lady, as we watched a beautiful love story.

Agree with each and every word that you wrote . Everyone has their part to play .If the storyline is not effective even actors cannot help the show.Richa is the mother of MaNan. They need to bring her back and set things at a right pace to keep this ship sailing.
Richa's vision +PaNi 's execution =Real MaNan
