Great post and bang on!!
I am glad Parth will be back as Manik, I have not watched season 2, but will do once he gets back. I just want a proper end to MaNan. But I do hope story and all is considered to be the most important, and hope the creatives pay special attention.

What Richa created was magic, and in no way am I expecting anything of that sort. Just need closure, as the last month of season 1, was handled terribly.

Good luck to the team, hopefully they can do justice to story, characters, and fans.

To me an actor's role is most important cause it's through them I am able to connect with the story. Just my 2 cents 😉 always a thing experienced is not a thing perceived!

Ace is not always needed to win a game if the other cards one has in hand is pretty strong. On the other hand if one just has the ace but the rest are all minor cards, one is sure to lose.

True no doubt. But with out an actor you got no story to tell, at the same time it does not mean that all actors are aces, no matter what they think of them selves 😆 Its a word play :)

Content is everything and the magic on screen that was created by richa may not happen again. Even parth said their chemistry was accredited to the writer.
So bringing back Parth will not save the show.

Lets see how this big mess is going to be cleaned up.

I agree with pretty much everything you mentioned here BUT one...

Nandini was Nandini till Arzoo was the writer.

After that, sometimes I used to see Geet Handa in Nandini, sometimes I used to see some other show's FL in Nandini- the essence of Nandini used to show up every now and then but post amputation track- it wasn't the Nandini we have seen till the first 100 episodes.

Her character started getting brutally butchered since S1 itself. She remained aimless in S1- at least now she has something to work on- despite it's illogicality.

The Soha track was a warning, the FC track was IT.

It really surprised how every time the CVs are dealing with some shit off-screen, Nandini's character becomes the scapegoat!

With all due respect to Richa and her work but I never understood why she let this happen.

And why just Nandini? Many of the characters have been butchered! Harshad became a typical villain who has no other work than planning and plotting with a woman his mother's age. Mukti just screams around like a banshee. Dhruv became bipolar. Alya went from bimbo to dignified to bimbo to clueless... the list is endless...and all this happened when Richa was very much present.

So I really don't know what to expect anymore. Content is king, yes, but the right people need to captain this ship.

THIS THIS N ONLYYY THIS. Who in their right mind would let Richa leave The show was going rock steady amassing huge popularity. Who in their bloody right minds. God knows what weed they must have been smoking when they made this epic fail decision of letting the soul of KYY part ways. Ughhh some body please knock some sense into the minds of these newbieee CV's and PH. I had given up watching Shitty 2 after 2 or 3 terrible episodes. It was lol worthy and saddening at the same time, the only show which you had v dearly loved to be seen ripped apart. I couldn't decipher what bloody shit they were trying to show. Anyway, I for one am very happy with Parth's come back as he will obviously be an improvement over the horrendous Jottwanii and his partner Madddy. But there is only a limit so as to which he can elevate the show and retain the attention of the audience. The true hero ultimately remains the script and here that is synonymous to Richa. Just bloody get her back and end the show on a good note Mteeeveee.

The bottom line this show needs a good creative team, a solid back bone of authors who made KY2 a classic legend in these modern times!! This show right now is like an orphan in the hands of an experimental set of parents...this gorgeous baby needs TLC...a lot of handling with care and caution and love!!

^^This.

I'm even dreading the line "Manik in an all new Avatar" in the article! What will they do out of Manik now after butchering Nandini

Sigh. Word with everything.

Lets talk S1 Nandini, hot topic and the common thread of the two seasons.

Nandini before the so-called special 70 epiodes was nothing but a Y/A heroine meant to show us a window to feb5 and Manik's world. We had no insight to her emotions , heck we didn't even see her POV about her love till musicana.
People talk about science and music dilemma which btw her own grandmother cleared in those episodes and Nandini picked music on her own.

She was the moral righteous girl who was meant to lecture the guy all the time and he had to listen and open up.

It was only during Musicana that she picked up. They wrote those layers and nuances . Especially when she cried about her heart-break alone and Manik for the first time became our window to her.
Her first punch was generic , it was her second punch that echoed more because it spoke of herself, her "I".

I loved when she walked out on them because of toxic relationship, you know why because rarely you see that - she was overwhelmed , she spoke about her fears about them .

Friendship phase- again, Nandini being rational about her relationship and laying down the foundation.

Usually what people crib about her court thing, I loved it- because it should never be absolute trust. Manik's definition was that but hers was solving problems together. It brought in the anger, trust conflict.

i don't know why people call Nandini naive for Pandit thing- she wasn't. Nobody including Pandit had an idea how bad he had it. She never bought his promises, never his words nor trusted him beyond the teacher boundaries.

PTSD- In a world full of FLs where they get attacked and then immediately have to act out as superheroine , Nandini was broken down, vulnerable .

She is the first FL to be given a voice about her sexual desires , her wants .

Yes, they struggled at times, because her initial sketch was weak.

Not Nandini's fault that the friends she had couldn't sell their character or act properly.

She didn't need tangibles too but her words.

This story was promised to us as fairy-tale and they delivered that love story.

Were there flaws, yes, could more be done there - sure. But Nandini still and wiill always be iconic. RY's Nandini.
Nandini was never jagat mata or the noisy moral compass out to correct the world.

Heck, it's too obvious that Nandu became huge on her own- coz writing.

Now S2

You get a loved character and you suffocate her. Just because you think an off-screen friendship works, you inculcate that to sell a friendship without explaining- the why.

You strip Nandini off her basic traits, push her doing things which she never were up for , making her as the usual generic FL who always was busy cleaning other people's shit- yeah thats her.

White blank canvas willing for another love triangle but this even her "I" s taken away.

S2- sucks because none of the female characters are respected, they are annoying, irritating and heck off-screen is more entertaining,

Story is essential. Parth and Niti can draw up the initial crowd but to hold the show, you need pen, borrow some from Richa.

240+ of a journey with RY's Nandu might have had it's share of ups and downs. But this new Nandini with her freshness and writing couldn't even capitalize on the pity card thrown at her.

How many of us are criticizing S2 on the content but nope the current team be deaf on them , RY listened and respected us.
I still cannot forget how Karishma promoted that intense scene using a hastag and when it aired. 🥱
