It Was All Worth It

He never thought it would be this hard. Don't get him wrong, he is happy and excited that he is going to be a father in 10 months. But nothing could have prepared him for the mood swings his wife Jodha was to have.

At first he found the mood swings cute and enjoyed having Jodha ask him every little thing such as how does she look each day, how much he loves her and even asked him to not leave her side even for a second.

He loved her attention so much that he had pampered her with new clothes, buys her ice creams, mithaais and fulfill all of her craving even if it was in the middle of the night. Of course he did all these things willingly for she is carrying his child.

It was the least he could do for her for all the pain she was to have bringing his child into this world but as the months grew so did Jodha's grumpiness. She more than once complained how she had not wanted chocolate ice cream but raspberry ripple instead.

He clearly remembered her asking for chocolate ice cream but as he took the difficulty to find an ice cream parlor in the middle of the night and came back with it, she had dropped a bomb saying that she doesn't want chocolate but raspberry ripple flavor.

And then came the clothes she wore. He couldn't understand why Jodha had to ask for his opinion when all she does is pick the outfit that he didn't choose. He once asked her the reason behind her actions and guess what she said?! She told him that he had bad taste.

He couldn't believe his ears as just few months back she did everything he said and wore every outfit that he chose for her and now all of a sudden he has bad taste? Worse thing of all was when he tells her how beautiful she was when she asked him whether she was fat or not and he said no. She had not believed him.

Thinking that maybe she wanted him to say that she is in fact fat, he said yes you are fat although he thought to himself that it wasn't a big deal for it was prove that the baby was growing strongly. She had been so angry with him that it was a miracle that she kept him alive.

Who was he kidding, if his ammi had not come with a plate of freshly fried pakkoras, Jodha would have butchered him into minced meat. He loves her all the more now than before for now she showed him more of herself than she had on the initial days of their marriage.

Every day is filled with new discoveries with the baby coming soon and the excitement never seems to cease. Just a thought of their baby growing in his wife's womb is enough to push away all the tiredness away from him.

The only complain he has of this pregnancy are the decrease in the number of intimate moments with his wife. It's always either she's too tired or she doesn't feel like it. And when she does crave for some intimate something, which he is more than happy to oblige she falls asleep half way through it before he even finishes what she started leaving him hanging.

But now as he looks down upon his baby girl who was an exact carbon copy of her mother, he told himself that all these months have been worth it for his family was now finally complete.
