Journey so far......

Sahir and Arzoo along with Ashrafi leave Niyamat house and start towards station.Arzoo vows to help Sahir come out of his pain while he is worried about their financial crisis.They decide to go to Dargah and offer their prayers where they encounter the same maulvi that Arzoo met in the beginning.He gives them his blessings and prove that they are the right humsafars for each other.

Instead of leaving on the same day,Sahir decides to leave next day and stays in a hotel with Arzoo to spend the night.He wants to close his past in Mumbai before he starts his future and makes arrangements to give divorce to Zeenat the next day.In the morning that follows,SaAz share some light moments and head towards police station to carry out the formalities.While Zeenat begs Sahir to accept her once again,he rejects her and divorces her both judicially and religiously along with the help of Zaki and lawyer Ansari.Anam and ACP Rathore visit them and apologize to them.Later they vow to make Zeenat pay for playing with all their lives. Zaki,Sahir and Arzoo share an emotional goodbye and SaAz proceed to Lucknow after spending valuable time in beach.

After they reach Lucknow their love is tested in the form of Dadi who refuses to accept their wedding and decides to disown Arzoo and leave their house. Later Sahir convinces her by telling the truth of their marriage and promises to take care of Arzoo. Dadi gives her consent. Meanwhile Arzoo tells the entire truth to her family and Nausheen is disheartened because of the treachery of her best friend. They mutually decide not to ponder over the past.

Rohini visits Arzoo and congratulates for her wedding but finds something fishy when she looks at their wedding album as Arzoo seemed to be upset/angry. SaAz share their first kiss inside the bathroom but are interrupted by Myra and are subjected to subsequent teasing. Sahir overhears the queries of Rohini and is guilty for making Arzoo go through so much. Arzoo is excited about her second proper night after wedding and is looking for Sahir. Rohini inquires Arzoo about her marriage but is dismissed in a polite manner by Arzoo for interfering in her marriage life.Later Rohini congratulates Sahir and asks him to keep Arzoo happy.Dadi knows the truth about Sahir's family and wants to meet him.

CHAPTER 8

If someone is drowning in a current of flowing river, he needs a helping hand from outside who will be able to pull him out and bestow him a second life. For Sahir who was drowning in a whirlpool of emotions Dadi willingly became that helping hand. It is needed to pull him out of his misery and mountain of guilt in order to bring peace in the life of her grandchildren. Yes Sahir is nothing less than her grandson.He always had a special place in her heart right from the beginning but it was blurred in the middle due to bad fate but now his place in her heart has gone up multifold.

Dadi was walking in the deserted nearby street of her house which leads to a park.Sahir was silent as usual and was supporting her. They reached the park and settled down on a bench.Sahir still utter a word. She watched him intently and drew a deep breath. Its time to talk.

" Beta! Can I ask you something?" Dadi's concerned voice brought him out his own world."Ji Dadi!" he replied and turned towards her giving her his complete attention."How much do you know about Arzoo?" Sahir knotted his eyebrows in confusion unable to understand what she is trying to imply.Dadi continued after seeing his confused face "Just tell what do you know about Arzoo's past...her life before she got married to you".Sahir relaxed and started telling her "Arzoo is a fashion designing graduate and came to intern in my company.Her Abbu left her family because he didn't have a son...Arzoo took the responsibility of her sisters and family and continues to do so and will be doing." He completed with a proud smile on his face.

Dadi gave him a smile. "This is just the tip of an iceberg beta! The pain and emotions that are associated with her past run so deep that even today I doubt whether she has heeled completely ".Sahir looked visibly shocked Dadi placed a hand on his shoulder and continued "What I am going to tell you now is not to increase your guilt and regret. It is just to let you know about her past which I am sure she will never tell you on her own ".Sahir dreaded whatever the truth was.He knew that Arzoo has suffered but is he ready to live through her experience? Will he be able to imagine the sorrow and pain in that angelic face? Will he be able to digest her pain? He asked himself. Then everything flashed before his eyes- his betrayal, his threats, his lies and her pain associated with them. He somewhat believed that whatever he has made her go through will be more painful than what has happened in the past. He closed his eyes. Yes he is ready...ready to hear her past...about his Arzoo...about the darkness of her life which he is unable to see till date. He wanted to spread light in her dark past as she has done to his past. He opened his eyes and saw Dadi who was waiting patiently to hear his answer." Yes Dadi..I would like to know about it...No..I want to know about it"

Dadi had a faraway look,as if travelling deep into buried memories and started telling "Arzoo was 8 years old.She had everything that a girl of that age would have...a loving father, a kind and compassionate mother ,a Dadi and two beautiful siblings whom she loved more than herself. Like any other girl Arzoo was papa's girl. He was her hero, her role model and her everything. Sarfaraz worked in a cloth factory as an embroidery worker. He made embroidery designs that will be used in the clothes that are manufactured in the factory. Nausheen was the perfect wife and mother and took care of home.Everything was so beautiful that we never knew what was coming in the future.Arzoo took so much interest in whatever her abbu was working on and even at a tender age of 8 she used to give suggestions to him...Abbu give Red here...Why did you give green? Blue will be more suitable" Dadi smiled to herself. "Even Sarfaraz took in her advices and used to praise her ability to design and tell that she would become a very good designer one day. Slowly evil started falling upon on our family. The talks of people slowly started influencing my son.He has three daughters..wonder how will he bring them up?What is life without having a son..afterall he is the one who will take care of parents in the future... Poor man the third one could have been a son,atleast it would have brought some solace...Daughters mean only burden,they are born to drain our sources not build them...Why shouldn't he marry someone else,he could get a son... "

These sort of comments added fuel to his insecurities that arose aftere the birth of Myra. He was already disappointed but then he moved on,afterall they are his daughters,but the constant pressure and speculation got the worse out of him.I am not supporting his actions but whatever was simmering inside him was stoked further by the comments of his so called well wishers. And just like a slow poison which is capable of killing a human in a slow way...the hostility towards his third daughter increased slowly which extended to his second daughter as well...but he never showed thst contempt to Arzoo..she was still his proud daughter.Nausheen and I noticed the change in his behaviour and enquired hom about the same but what we got in return was accusations especially Nausheen.She was accused of not being able to give birth to a son.This shattered her.Even then the situation was under control and would have turned better if not for Farah."

Dadi took a deep breath,Sahir's hatred for Sarfaraz and Farah was increasing each minute.He silently assured her by enclosing her hands in his and providing the courage to continue."Farah was Sarfaraz's co-worker who was interested in him. She started manipulating him and brainwashed him against Nausheen and Arzoo.The Abbu who never even raised his voice against Arzoo beat her brutally for interfering when he was beating Myra.That was the first blow for her.But it didn't stop there...it only increased from there.One day unable to see the torture that is being inflicted upon her children..Nausheen fought with him and that was the final nail in the coffin. He slapped Nausheen and in a fit of anger I asked him to get out of the house. He too left only to come back with Farah and announce his marriage with her. He got married to her and left Lucknow leaving behind his family when Arzoo was 8, Zara was 6 and Myra was 3 years old with an old mother and a shattered wife."

Dadi wiped the tears of that were flowing freely and looked at Sahir whose eyes had a sheen of unshed tears."Arzoo was the one who suffered the most. Her Abbu was her everything.He left her.It took her 2 days to assimilate that fact and she weeped...weeped till her tears dried out...till she became unconscious.When she woke up again,she asked for her Abbu and then Nausheen who was praying without a minute of break for Arzoo to recover lost it when she uttered Abbu.'Your Abbu left us...do you hear me? He left me because I wasn't able to give him a son...he left you because you are not a boy...he left Zara because she was not a boy...left Myra because she was not a boy...never ever take his name again...samjhi tum?' That's when realization hit that little girl..her father didn't love her as she imagined..he wanted a son...she wasn't a boy...he left her... She gave out an anguished cry before she passed out.When she woke up again she didn't utter a single word.Nausheen who was regretting whatever she bit out ,tried to make her speak...but she didn't...Poor woman waited for 3 days but there was no improvement..Arzoo ate,drank but never slept a wink,never spoke.Nausheen was unable to take it, her elder daughter went into depression ,her other daughters had no idea what was brewing in their lives..instead they were happy that Abbu wasn't there to beat them again...everything took a toll on her.Thpen she did the most foolish thing ever.She ran to the backyard and jumped into the well to commit suicide"

Dadi shuddered thinking about the past.Sahir couldn't hold it anymore.He cried silently.Dadi continued"It was only when Zara screamed that I and Arzoo ran and looked into the well,while I went to gather for help,Arzoo stood rooted in the place seeing her Ammi battling for life in the water.And she cried ...screamed for her mother.Some neighbours came and rescued Nausheen and she was fine after a few days. Nausheen regretted her actions and immediately got a job in the same factory where Sarfaraz worked. Arzoo was afraid of water from that fateful day onwards. She saw her little sisters who were playing without a worry when they had lost their father and were on the verge of losing their mother too and just like that the 8 year old Arzoo Sarfaraz Sheikh became Arzoo Nausheen Khan ,a second Ammi to them and promised herself to take care of the home just like a son would without the need of a father.A point in whole past is that however wrong Sarfaraz had been...he was right about one thing..Arzoo became the fashion designer that she aspired to be. But I know the truth, her passion for designing came from her Abbu and she pursued it only to prove that she is indeed his proud daughter...how much ever she refuses that in front of others. She doesn't love him..infact she loathes him for leaving us like that but deep inside she still yearns for her father's love . Life has taught her one thing...it is being positive and hoping that everything will change for best."

Dadi wiped her tries and took Sahir's face in her wrinkled palms "Beta! Life is not the place to keep regretting your past and feeling guilty for whatever mistake you did. If there is a sin, there is a liberation too.Don't be wound too much in your emotions, think ahead and find out what you can do to mend the fault. Life is all about picking your broken pieces , mending them and moving forward. You did a mistake, you learnt the wrong lesson from your past and executed in the wrong way..Its okay beta...Now all you have to think about is to put back everything and just move forward and make a bright future.If Arzoo was still stuck in her past and immersed in her emotions...if she hadn't put the dark phase behind her...she would have become Lady Gabbar Choudary by now " and Sahir smiled on that "But she left everything behind not only her father's dark memories,she has erased the not-so-good memories of your relationship too and is looking forward for a brighter and better life with you.Will you be able to do it? To put everything behind and give your relationship a fresh start without letting the guilt rule over you? To give you and Arzoo the infinite happiness that will result from this? "

Sahir looked intently at her.Whatever she said made sense..No it was the sensible thing. What the shrewd businessman, The Shark inside him wasn't able to figure out, this old Dadi had provided him .She has given him the key for his happiness in future. Now it is in his hands to open the lock and take the abundant happiness that the future has to offer.

Phew! Finally...I completed this chapter.

So Dadi felt it was necessary for Sahir to know all about Arzoo's troubled past,in order for them to move on.She is indeed a smart woman.It is so sad how in our society people still give preference to sons over daughters.😭Parents I feel should treat both sons and daughters equally. First of all welcome back sush after almost 2 months back. What a beautiful update. Very well written scene between dadi and sahir. But what a shame as a father brutally beating his child. And really cannot imagine what arzoo must have felt when her father beat her and left the girls just beacause they were girls.

Sush, brilliant update, I loved it!! You have infused Arzoo's character with much more depth than she had in the serial, where there was more focus on Sahir as a multilayered, complex, conflicted character. Your story is a more fitting continuation of where the serial left off, than I could have ever imagined! I really like how seamlessly you weave into your FF details from the serial, e.g. in this chapter, the part about why Arzoo is scared of water (WOW!). There is not even a single teeny tiny instance where you go against the essence of the serial, which is something that even the makers of the serial could not achieve. What you've done is really amazing, and I'm so glad that you're back!

Now...I love this chapter because you decided to give Arzoo a proper past too...i felt there was not too much about arzoo's pain and her feelings because we were too busy with gabbar chaudhary first, then came game time & horror, and then sahir's past. I wish both arzoo and sahir had been given a proper past in the show, i'm glad you gave us that😉

I don't know what to say...except that i hate Sarfaraz and Farah even more than i did before!😡 whats wrong with them?! such people should not exist🥱
i wonder how arzoo will react when she realizes sahir knows all this...and i can't wait for sahir's thoughts

Next time, i want a looonnnggg chapter...😆 but its ok if thats not possible, i just need to see sahir's thoughts. and this was awesome(as usual)
