Which movie made SRK a star?

From which film that SRK gain his fandom after which his movies were promoted by his name? Like when did he became actor who could pull the crowd to cinema

I first noticed him in Raju Ban gaya gentleman which still remains one of my fav Shah movies. Darr, Bazigar were good but he wasn't there yet. It was with DDLJ that he finally arrived.

DDLJ I guess. I fell for him with Anjaam though :)

Well, he started as an anti-hero, went on to become a romantic hero, then started being a mixed bag by doing different stuff like Main Hoon Na, Swades, Don, CDI, MNIK here and there. Looking back, it seems like his position in the industry cemented with Darr and he had a turning point in his career with DDLJ. But other notable works helped him carry on and reach the level of superstardom he has today because it's easy to fade away after a few good years. Going strong for almost two and a half decades is very tough based on a couple of projects so while it might seem so on the face of it, I don't think we can credit one particular movie for his enduring success.

I think Baazigar is the turning point.

And I think it was all the Karan Johar movies, Mohabbatein, Devdas, Veer-Zaara etc that helped him as well

SRK became an overnight star after Deewana 😃 by the way...
then his film Baazigar took the nation by storm 😊😊

He followed it with films like Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Darr, and carved a niche for himself in a short span of time.

There wasn't any 100-200-300 crore club back then,, so more than BO pull it was his terrific screen presence and his mindblowing energy levels that made him an star.

DDLJ ultimately established him in BW and there was no looking back after that.

But all his initial films played a very important part in making him star rather than just one film.
