When it came to marriage , I guess situation dint change much especially for girls ... yes many open minded girls took part in freedom struggle and fought for their country ... but the marriage realted issues remained same only .. in fact even today in small towns of India such things exist ... even a show on siimlar issues like balika vadhu or ishq ka rang safed r made to highlight these issues and these shows r based on today's era .. so imagine the situation in 1945 .. So I m fine with what was shown ...

My problem was when characters in the beginning like that father was shown progressive in his thinking , then why suddenly take a u-turn and show them all regressive ... if they were from beginning itself shown cursing their daughter for her fate and wanting to get rid of her , then finding a old guy for her would hv made more sense than it is now ..

I so hated the old man and his family ...the way they were bragging about being " ladka walay " ..
Isnt it the bitter truth of our society 🤔 ..ladka jaisa b ho ..ladki best honi chaiye 👎🏼
And thankfully CVS made gowind speak ... Else was at the verge of hating him ..along with gayatri who was silent all along ..
But by the end ..it turned out to b a good drama creating situation ..

yeah even today for matrimony of my cousin sister I hv noticed that guys aging from 30-35 yrs want girls who r just 21-25 so that they r mostly virgin .. its nothing but double standards which exists even today .. here toh we r talking of 1945 .. so well ..

And yeah thank god father spoke up in the end .. phew

Jyoti beautiful take on the episode, you have said it all, Drashti as usual was brilliant, she is one actress par excellence, i am her die hard fan, regarding the grooms family asking her to walk n show, that is still prevalent in my place too, whenever the boys come to see a girl they ask her to walk n show n then the ladies accompanying them check whether the girls have fingers.

'

Well yeah I hv faced it too .. it still exists 🤢 ... its quite sad in a way that we hv still not changed when it comes to this double standard against girls .. sighh ..

Poor gayu was looking at her father seeking help silently but he gave importance to the promise which he gave to damayanti I loved the way gayu told him if he thinks it will be best for then she will agree to alliance finally govind Seth love for his chutkuniya win over kasam he shouted at groom family and asked them not to show their faces...but damayanti faint act gonna made gayu agree for the rishta it seems her brothers and bhabhis will force her to agree...I am eagerly waiting for dadi entry

I was almost pulling my hair out when the father was sitting silent .. thank god he spoke up in the end 😆 .. though a little late but better late than never ...

Damyanti is on a suicidal mission for her daughter .. dunno what has suddenly got into her ..

And yup I guess she will b forced to say yes after her mother faints in tonight's epi 😭

this is the case with rana and rajmata
rajmat made some setious blunders
rana ji has to pay for all of them
rajmata does not care for ranaji happiness
she only loves her position status thats all

True .. Rajmata trusted that Chacha too much and now lost everything .. I m glad Ranaji took some tough decisions yesterday ..

i felt today damayanti is gayatri step mom
she does not love her or care for her
she could have burnt her or drowned her as well
no need to give her such a life long punishment

Exactly ... no real mother will do such cruel thing with her daughter .. better to give her poison than get her married to a father of 2 big kids ..

seemed she was selling her off like a slave
with all that money and ornaments

yeah I forgot to add that .. the way she said 11lakhs and ornaments alag se , it did look like she is selling her to some dalal 🤢

groom was her dads age
he stammered and had 2 children elder to gayatri
how sick twisted and perverted can it get

I know .. yuckk 🤢

loved the question gayatri asked bauji
but he is under oath to accept this oldie
but at least he spoke to the oldie at last

I know .. that was a small mercy for us and Gayatri ..

girls were really treated as commodities then
just passed off from parents to the sasuraal
then be a baby making machine there
times have changed but are we really better ?
seems we still face similar situations albeit bit modified

Your reviews are always point on Jyo and liked the Devdas part. In fact its similar how the mothers think back then (not all, some) but Damayanti was really annoying how she was wiling to marry off Gayatri just because she loves a king. What about her future? Would she get happiness out of this marriage? Glad at least her father is the only sane person in the house supporting her.
