I will add the Collages as soon as Shweta sends them 😳

My Topics title says it all .. A simple question to Gayatri's parents especially her mother .. Does she really think this marriage will secure her future or rather destroy it ?? 🤔

After seeing the new promo I was really pissed off thinking why CVs had to show Gayatri's father so progressive and ahead of his times when he can do nothing but quietly see his daughter getting married to an old guy 🤢...My point was why show a character so progressive in nature for his daughter's happiness when in the end it always comes down to those regressive beliefs only in the name of khandaan ki izzat 🤢 ..

But but but after seeing today's episode , I m quite relieved that Gayatri's father is still the same who loves his daughter and will not tolerate any humiliation or bad mouthing against his daughter the way he blasts off that old guy's family ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ .. Gayatri's tears and almost begging to her father to save her life from getting ruined forever just melted her father's heart as he realises this is not the time to keep quiet just because he made some random promise to his wife since this is the question of his daughter's life ; A father like Govind Seth who can even go against the law and arrange a 6 horse charriot for his daughter's happiness can never see his daughter getting married off to a old guy who has kids of Gayatri's age ...So for me Govind Seth's angry outburst in the last scene was the main attraction of today's episode as that one moment just restored Gayatri's trust on her father as well as my trust on Creatives 😆😃 .. Though I would hv preferred if the father stood up for his daughter in the beginning itself and not after seeing her daughter getting humiliated or after Gayatri almost begging in front of him 🤔 ...I hv expectations from the father only because CVs portrayed his character like that .. if he was like Damyanti or those typical regressive parents only , I would not hv expected anything from him ..

I know I know that eventually Gayatri might herself agree for this marriage since in precap her mother will do some emotional atyaachar on both father-daughter with her fainting/almost dieing of trauma act 😡 , but at least I m glad CVs kept Sethji's character intact as he does stand up for her daughter today 👍🏼 .. Now the new promo looks a bit more clear and we know why Gayatri does the engagement or why even Sethji was quiet there ... Its all because of Damyanti and her emotional atyaachar act 😡 ...

Well mothers those days in the name of izzat , used to sacrifice their daughters by getting them married off to rich old zamindaars .. It happened in movie Devdas too where Paro's mother married off her daughter to a old Zamindaar who was father of 2 kids just because Paro's proposal was rejected by Devdas's family and the mother wanted to prove to Devdas's family that she can get her daughter married to a even richer family , so she just sacrificed her daughter's life in the name of revenge 🤢 .. Here too Damyanti is doing something similar with Gayatri ... She found out her daughter is in love with a king but that marriage is impossible , so now she is scared that Gayatri anyday might cross her limits and hence she just wants to marry her off with anyone to secure her future but in the process she forgot that she is not really securing her future but rather destroying her future by getting her married off to someone who is triple her age 🤢 ... Call it a typical mentality during those times , but most mothers had this one dimentional thinking that girls will hv to compromise especially if they r born with a not so good fate

I dont even want to get into the entire scene with that budhha's family and the way they asked poor Gayatri to walk and show if she can walk properly while those bhabhis were gloating and getting sadistic pleasure out of Gayatri's trauma 😡... Poor Gayatri just kept looking at her father , waiting for him to raise his voice and stop making a tamasha of his daughter 😭 ; She just had that trust on her father and noone else 😭... Drashti was brilliant in the entire scene expressing sadness as well as shock when she is stunned to see the silence of her entire family despite everyone knowing the whole situation Gayatri is put into ... She has really grown as an actress and this scene proves it especially when she had no dialogues till the last scene but she just had to emote everything with her eyes and her body language .. Well she nailed it 👏👏 ..

My heart really went out to Gayatri today when she was sitting in front of the mirror with no hopes or dreams in her eyes anymore but just fear of the dreaded future thats waiting on her doorstep 😭... No wonder she prefers being in her dreamland than confront such a bitter reality of her life when she does not have the freedom to choose her lifepartner ...

Just felt like hitting the bhabhis especially that smaller one when she kept coming to Gayatri gloating about ladkewale aa gaye 😡...I really want to see their faces when Gayatri gets married to Ranaji and becomes a Queen 😈

Now talking about Ranaji-Rajmata scene... Errr So Rajmata told Ranaji that he has only 2 options .. Either sign the double tax deal with Officer Wilkinson or marry that princess Sharmila since he has no 3rd option to clear the debts ... But CVs will for sure bring out that 3rd option , that is RaGa marriage soon 😛😆 .. It remains to b seen how and who brings this marriage proposal and how Ranaji agrees for it ... Will he agree just because Gayatri is Govind Seth's daughter and this way they dont hv to clear the debts at all or the underlying reason will b Ranaji saving Gayatri's life since she will b writing that letter to Ranaji about her marriage to a old guy 🤔...

I dunno who will get that letter .. Since we hv so much Ekta influence in our soaps 😆 , so our guesses r Rajmata getting the letter and mayb taking advantage of it as she can easily prove to Gayatri's family that look their daughter is writing love letters to my son 😆 and thus break her current rishta to join her own rishta with her son 😈but what if CVs surprise us by showing Ranaji only getting her letter and deciding to marry Gayatri instead of Sharmila 😛 ... Anyways whoever gets the letter , it will for sure play a major role in this RaGa marriage 👍🏼 ...

I m glad that Ranaji is firm with his stands so far and does not always give in to Rajmata's demands if they r unfair.. So this is positive sign that in future too he will stand for his wife if his mother is wrong 👍🏼...Also I liked how Ranaji ordered Divanji to cut off Rajmahal's monthly costs and stop all those parties as they r under financial crisis and so it makes no sense to do these fake show offs when they r on the verge of getting bankrupt ... Rajmata is obsessed with Royalty and dont want to loose their royal prestige in front of people but she is not understanding that once all the money is over , then as it is they will loose everything .. So whats the point in doing those temporary shows offs which will take them nowhere ...

I liked what Ranaji said here that at times bowing down to your defeat and accepting reality is better than living with false pride and prestige which can give u only destruction 👏👏...It again shows how Ranaji likes living in reality than keeping false hopes or dreaming big which he can never achieve .. Quite an irony to Gayatri's thoughts which might result in a clash in future between RaGa post their marriage 🤔 ..

Overall the episode belonged to Gayatri aka Drashti today and her acting actually made it worth a watch despite the OTT drama from those Old guy's families and all the emotional torture ...I just hope this whole saga dont drag for long and we quickly get to the RaGa marriage track ...

U have summed everything beautifully that there is nothing to add.
Agree with everything what u said. Her mother is behaving like a typical one who is not thinking that she is not helping her daughter but just pushing her into hell.
And i am kinda disappointed with CVs for butchering Bauji's character. He might stood up today, but tomorrow he will bow down in front of his wife's stupidity. 😒

My heart went out to Gayatri today. Obviously one reason for that is the situation But other reason and very important one is how Drashti portrayed it. Hats off to her. She has surely mastered the emotional scenes. She made me cry today.

About letter, i think it will reach Rajmata not Ranaji.

Loved Rajmata-Ranaji scene too & yes Ranaji's character is sensible. Good to see that.

As u said today's episode belongs to Gayatri/ Drashti

Loved reading your take.

I just couldn't stand Damyanti...for me there was no difference between her and both the DIL, loved the brothers..for raising their voice against the alliance. I am still thinking how Damyanti is going to face gayu...her continuous blabbering... this is your fate, no prince is going to marry you...is somewhat no mum can say to her own child, irrespective of times. I still believe that with the kind of family background Gayu has and her father's extreme richness would had fetched her a decent match even in 1945...as money has been always played a significant role in people's lives...plus I think by 1945 India's freedom struggle was at its peak and there were many-many open-minded youth and even families...I would have preferred something else here rather than this clichd scenario...cv's you failed this time...why not engaging Gayu with an open-minded man devoted to the freedom struggle...and when he hears of gayu's past...he slips back saying that he to is also not sure of future as he has given life to the mother India...and doesn't want gayu to go through that again.
Loved Ranajee's approach and take towards things...in fact,he seems royal only by name, otherwise he is quite grounded and has a strong open mind.

Hey Jyo,

There is another point of irony I think the CVs might be drawing here. Both Ranaji and Gayatri are having marriages forced upon them against their will. Again highlighting the fact that marriage wasn't done purely for a person's personal happiness during those times as it is today. Perhaps for some royal families it still isn't as much of a personal choice than a political alliance so to speak. Of course Ranaji's position isn't even half as bad as Gayatri due to the regressive and misogynistic mentality of the people. But some highlight were drawn here. Both said their heat belongs to someone else and they can accept another. So I think CVs wanted to highlight that some how.

About the rishta scene, it was absolutely perverted. The old hag even asked indirectly about Gayatri's virginity. Disgusting! About why she wasn't married yet was it because something that had tainted or disgraced her honor. So many double standards shown of the time. Gayatri had to walk in front of them to prove that she was in fine health. Yet the old hag stuttered and no one cared. I am not making fun of any kind of disabilities but the double standards were shown there. How can a mother be so heatless? I hope they at least show Dayamanti realize her mistake in later episodes.

Like I said we dont like seeing such regressive practices but their there to educate us on the misogynistic practices of the time. You quoted Devdas and how a mother proudly sacrificed her daughter at the sake of her pride. Yes pride and honor use to be everything in those times. That why in the novel its such a big issue of Paro getting caught in Devas's room at night that it ruins her entire life. Novels and shows highlight these issues to show how much disaster social norms of the time caused and how unfair and bias they were. Both Paro and Gayatri's life are about to get ruined because honor was so important to society back than. In Gayatri's sake she did something very dishonorable by consuming alcohol. Not only that but she told her mother that she consumed this alchohol for a man she loves. Girls did not have much rights to chose the men they love back than. It was considered a social taboo even if they did something that could remotely question their character their life could be destroyed. It was also a double standard as Gayatri's father pointed out no one would question a old hag lusting for a young virgin sad state of affair. ETR2 is doing a good job on putting light to some social norms that were unfair during the time period.

Show stealers were both Darshan Jariwala and Drashti. Drashti is very fortunate to get to wrong with such strong actors. Surekhsha Sikri who is going to play the Dadi is brilliant as well. Along with Anita Raj. Excellent direction and brilliant writing I must add.

Great post as usual! Waiting for Di's collage. This forum is quite slow at the moment.

I guess her father will b forced to remain silent all thanks to mother's wmotional atyachar again as she seems to faint in precap .. so well .. mayb Gayatri only will ask her father to remain silent as she will marry the guy for her mother's happiness and then secretly she might write that letter to Ranaji thinking he will save her again from this mess ..

Drashti was brilliant in today's episode .. 👏👏

Actually in devdas , even paro's family were zamindars and stayed in haveli but they were going through financial crisis just how Ranaji's family is going through in this show .. thats one reason why Dev's family rejected Paro's proposal .. here its a bit role reversal

Anyways my point was in both cases mothers for the sake of either prestige or izzat end up marrying off their daughter to old man .. they used to assume this way they r securing their daughter's future .. only if they could realise that they r destroying it ... And yes thank god Gayatri spoke up in the end ...small mercy 😆
