After months of speculation and nail biting, we can finally confirm that Kiara Advani will play the role of Sakshi Dhoni, Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni's wife in a biopic based on him. We knew Sushant Singh Rajput would play Dhoni since a long time, but it wasn't clear who would play his wife. Earlier, Parineeti Chopra and Alia Bhatt were in the running to play the Indian cricket captain's wife. But, Kiara Advani has been finally being finalised by Neeraj Pandey.A source close to the film reveals, "It was quite challenging to find the right girl to play Sakshi as people at large have seen her quite frequently on television and in person, so they would tend to compare. Neeraj was clear that he wanted a young actress in MS Dhoni's biopic. He didn't wish to cast a leading lady who has done many roles because he didn't want the audience to have a preconceived notion or form an impression about her. He basically wanted an actor without baggage."
So, Kiara fits in this part as she has just Fugly in her kitty and her potential has still not been seen by the audience. This movie will just provide her the opportunity to prove her mettle. One hears from other confirmed sources that Kiara's audition was just amazing and her chemistry with Sushant during the screen test and rehearsals is what made her bag the role. Of course, she is not wasting any time and has been rehearsing non-stop to look and act the part ofSakshi.
