Both Dilwale and BM have 4 open weeks, I think it will even out the clash with 2 weeks to each movie. Though only thing which has to be knows is screens counts for both the movies.

Festival holidays like Diwali , eid and Christmas are bigger than 15 August , 26 jan or 2 oct
Bcz during Festivals ppl spend time with their families , take weeks off if they r studying , working outside of the city , during festivals ppl visit their homes which they may don't during other holidays ... There are so many ppl who only watches 1 or 2 movies per year in theatre and 99% they watch those during festival times only

And also take consideration if someone's movie is coming out after a year or two so it will take big opening compared to others

festival releases get an extended run like Diwali christmas EID not just only 1 "single" big day and Diwali isn't that good to be honest as most people got other stuffs to do instead of watching films

Independence day is one of the best day of the year its a full blown national holiday no festival or anything

as far as i know india got 3 national holidays
26th jan
15th jan
