During 26/11, several police died cuz d terrorists had better arms like AK-47n AK-56 compared to police's pistols n revolvers. Since terrorists r again trying to destroy India n recently a terrorist was caught do u think its d time d police's r provided wid AK-47 n AK-56?

I agree Police should have better equipment, however purpose of AK-47 or AK-56 are for armed combat. I think it is over reaction to have Police carry these high end weapons.

What every Police should have is a secure fire arm which is capable to hold a standoff and bullet proof jacket as standard issue. Currently not every police man has access to pistols or revolvers unless it is an escalated incident and they have instructions to carry. See any police on road and all they have is a long stick and hope like shit that bad guys don't have guns.

In situations like 26/11 we need a rapid response unit which is well equipped to handle any situation. We already have units like that however how rapid they are is a question.

Do you know that Hemant Karkare had earlier been posted in Antwerp. Now can you imagine how competitive, ruthless and cutthroat the diamond mafia might be? Did you know Adani was also present at the diamond conference that was going on?

Gun debate is what it is. There are pro's and con's but one thing is for sure is the number of victims is real. Question here is if Police should have the fire power and Yes they should have enough to perform their duty as best for the changing culture and environment. You cant have law enforcement carrying sticks when the people who they are supposed to stop are going around with guns.

When it comes to civilians carrying guns, India has long way to get there compared to western counties.

I recalled a discussion wid my family after 9/11 wen my bro told dat its government's faults for providing 6 ya 9 goliwali bandook instead of AK-47 n AK-56 otherwise many peoples wud have been saved n even many policemen who also sacrificed their lives. So, I thought to make dis post.
