" I am just feeling sorry for Arnav as he got rusticated from the college, Aunty. But I will surely speak to Ma'am to not blacklist his name so that he get an admission into some other good college." sympathised Khushi, while it melted Arnav's heart drastically.
Khushu brought her palms together for a formal namaste before leaving from there.
She had surely left from there but she will never be able to leave from the thoughts and heart of Arnav, who had fallen deeply for her.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Night,
Najaane Tum Kya Keh Gayi
Deewarein Saari Teher Gayi
Yeh Nafratein Yeh Dooriyan Sab Peeche Reh Gayi
To say that Arnav was impressed by Khushi's honesty and sincerity, would surely be an underestimate of his feelings. The way Khushi respected his mom, even after hating him so much was surely praise-worthy.
" Arnav..."
A smooth and loving voice came out from behind, startling Arnav from his reverie which managed to make a genuine smile grace on his lips.
Khushi? In my room? At this time?
Arnav was surely shocked but the curiosity took the better of him as he turned around to look if it was his hallucination or reality. But as they say, even hallucination becomes reality in LOVE.
No words were exchanged between both of them, for their clashed intense gazes spoke louder than any word and was spoken in a language which only a heart in love can understand.
A green translucent sari adorned her petite frame as she took a small round, asking how the sari looks on her. Arnav's hand involuntarily raised up towards the breathtaking beauty but as soon as he heard his mom calling him, the beauty vanished in the thin air, revealing him that he was daydreaming.
" What happened, Chotte? Are you alright?" asked Arunima, who had never seen her Chotte inactive when she called out to him.
" Was yours and Papa's a arranged marriage?" asked Arnav, to which Arunima nodded affirmatively.
" How and when did you realize that you are in love? What was that moment of love?" asked Arnav, to which Arunima was startled as her gut instincts told her that something very big was going to happen.
" But why are you asking this Chotte?" asked Arunima, eager to know the answer.
" First you tell me the answer, Mumma." demanded Arnav, whose curiosity had peaked now.
" There is no one moment where you can realize your love, Chotte. It is a collection of memories and journey of care, trust and understanding which eventually results in a moment where you feel you are in love. Now you answer my question." Arunima was keen to know the answer for her heart had become restless.
Ab Samajha Kya Maine Paaya Khel Khel Mein
Rang Gaya Main To Rang Kisike Khel Khel Mein
Rab Ne Kaisa Khel Rachaya Khel Khel Mein
Rang Gaya Main To rang Kiske Khel Khel Mein
"" Mumma, I am in love...with Khushi." said Arnav, shocking Arunima to the core while the possibilities of this newly arising feeling felt devastating to her.
" Are you serious, Chotte? Marriage and love are not a joke and you better know it." warned Arunima, as she didn't want to hurt a girl as sincere and honest as Khushi.
"I know Mumma, this is a bit difficult to believe. And believe me, I never knew or even wanted to fall for her. This just happened, Mumma. But I can assure you this is not because I am feeling extremely guilty about what I did or just an attraction. I am as serious as you are right now, Mumma. Trust me." said Arnav, while holding her hands as Arunima felt helpless.
One side was a girl who was just like her, who didn't consider this marriage at all and wants to pursue a career in acting and on other side was her own son, who fell deeply for his accidental wife.
Whom was she going to choose and on what basis?
---------------------------------------------------------------
Next Morning,
" So what is your decision, behenji?" asked Suhasini eagerly, which Shashi looked grief-stricken by the decision his wife had taken.
On the other hand, Khushi felt assured that Arunima will surely reject her and this chapter in her life will end, for once and for all.
Arunima was surely in a dilemma after the dreaded confession. But her dilemma vanished the minute she noticed the sincerity in her son's eyes and the way he stayed awake, dreaming about the one, who coloured him in her colours.
Arunima didn't take long to realise how serious her son was about his love and how heart-broken we would be if she didn't let his first love bloom.
" We have decided that we like Khushi a lot and we would love to have her as our bahu." said Arunima, with a gentle smile adorning her face.
All the nervousness which was instilled in Arnav till then, flew out of the window as his eyes glistened with happiness and joy.
"But Aunty.." started off Khushi only to be cut by Arunima.
" You know Beta, even if we set out to find a bride for our Chotte we would have never found a girl as perfect as you." said Arunima, lovingly.
" We understand what you are telling behenji, but don't you think this decision should be of Khushi and Arnav? After all this is a life changing decision." argued Shashi, as he couldn't bear the agony on the face of Khushi unlike Garima who only thought of the society and its taunts.
" Even Chotte wants the same, isn't it?" asked Arunima, while everyone's gaze turned to Arnav and everyone held their breaths, awaiting his answer.
" Actually..Main Na...I love Khushi." said Arnav, shocking Khushi to the core who felt her world crashing down on her again.
How low could a person stoop to make me feel pain? How many more pranks he will play on me?
Those were some of the questions which were ringing in Khushi's ears, who was unaware of the sincerity in Arnav's love.
Will she ever realise Arnav's true love? Or will past veil the present and change the future?
