Reasons behind the failure of DDD? Is ZNMD better?

I haven't seen the film but the film looked quite good from the outset lavish and stuffs but why it failed to even surprass znmd's lifetime collection which released back in 2011

1) Starcast? ZNMD had 2 of the biggest stars in the country DDD consisted of some of the midrange stars

2) the story not good like ZNMD? Znmd had tremendous repeat value

3) the acting not efficient like the trio of znmd? farhan is in both the films so he couldn't spell his magic this time

4) Zoya did a splendid job handling such a big film but it seems she couldn't deliver this time around

5) Budget? Znmd was made on budget of 60cr with 2 big stars and the budget of DDD looks like even more than that

Better music. Better screenplay. Bigger Stars. Better Marketing Strategy(the promotional road trip was pure genius). Everything was just in play and perfect!..and eventually, it swept all the awards :D

Also, the reviews & WOM was much better.

i don't think znmd music was that good it was decent!!!

HR was coming from a 2 big flops so wasn't in any good form orelse he would have guaranteed a 10-12cr opening which meant film would have risen above 110-120(superhit)

Ye ZNMD whole package was good but the presence of HR and KAT did the trick

in comparison to DDD, i think it had better music. It went with the film..the music was seamless in the film, i felt. HR, despite the flops, he is and was a big star, so I think he had nothing to worry about and yes HR/Kat pairing and presence did the trick.

These films worked better in 2005-2009 time period . These days no one wants to watch lifestyle of the rich and famous 😆😆😆

I saw the movie and enjoyed it but I can see why it did not make a whole lot of money

This time around producers got carried thought that they can also pull it off spending millions on a midrange cast as they thought got zoya but it didn't work the way they wanted

DDD did well n got decent reviews...but it was more of a glorified Indian soap set on a cruise with bollywood stars...indians see soaps on tv day everyday so i dont think it gave them something new...while ZNMD was more movie material with the he road trip etc

due to rise of multiplex these films should work better now

dont think it has much to do with the cast... the movie had too much of Anil-Shefali n their issues...the truth is if they had focussed more on PC-Farhaan-Ranveer-Anushka storylines...the movie wud have done better... you can't blame the cast as most of the young cast didn't get much scope...i mean ranveer-anushka love story had few scenes here n there...they dont even meet in the end😆

Ye ZNMD was quite unique and the dialogues were good i don't know about DDD
