Naga Vamsi (a Telugu producer) was the one who distributed War 2's Telugu version.
I still maintain that the enormous failure of the Telugu version was mainly due to the clashing with Coolie. Filmindustries are like battlefields and Junior NTR had no chance with this role in War 2 to win against Rajinikant's celebration of his 50th filmindustry-anniversary with (a quite mediocre but pushed into heights) Coolie. There was a reason that the Coolie makers entered into a clash with Jr NTR's War 2... they could have chosen another date...

Still Naga isn't honest by pointing at YRF... he should have pointed at the Coolie makers/distributors... War 2 may have had some flaws but basically, it got badly infected by a well orchestrated negative campaign which is a known major tool to harm the boxoffice outcome of a competitor's movie since decades. Now - through the power of social media, the increasing corupptible minds of 'critics'/influencers and gullible minds of potential viewers - the effects are multiplied supported by the possibility to watch the movie later on a streaming platform. Of course, also the ticket pricing plays a major role.
Well even with the inflated number BOI is using, Sachnik had it on 1.80 crores on Thursday at least they can admit as a failure. Funny how it's...
