Chapter 12

Taani was standing outside Rey's room to see whether he is fine or not. She was thinking to knock the door or just go inside as per Rey he need sometime but she was worried for him and couldn't stop herself from coming here.

After a lot of debate she knocked the door but there was no response. She again knocked but no response which made her worried. So she opened the door slowly and pepped inside only to find his room empty. She moved inside the room and her some noise coming from a door attached to his room. Taani slightly opened the door, it was a small room with some tables and exercise items and there he was punching the punching bag and his hands bleeding.

Seeing his hands bleeding, she immediately moved towards to stop him from hurting himself further and tried to hold him.

T: Rey, what are you doing? Just stop it. Your hands are bleeding.

But Rey didn't stop, he kept punching. Rey pushed her to get out off her hold but in this process Taani fell down hurting herself with the side of the table.

"Ouch."

He immediately saw her holding her head and blood oozing out of it. Rey immediately took her in his arms and made her lay on his bed. He bought first-aid box and was going to clean the blood when Taani stopped him and took the cotton from his hand. She made him sit on the bed and took hold of his palms and turned it to see his knuckles bleeding. Her eyes were filled with tears seeing him like this.

She started dressing his wound with the utter care. She blew the air whenever he hissed in pain. Tears were flowing out of her eyes. She cupped his face in her palms and caressed it.

T: Rey I don't want to know anything. I won't question you, I promise. But please don't hurt yourself. Please!! I can't see you like this.

She pleaded him not to hurt himself.

They kept looking in each other's eyes. Taani could see many emotions pain, anger, hurt and most importantly love and care in his eyes. The whole surrounding was calm only the sound of the clock can be heard until Rey spoke.

R: He was my uncle, my Dad's brother.

She looked at him shocked thinking why his uncle wants to hurt him.

My Dad was one of the top 5 business tycoon. I had a happy family Taani. It was Me, Mom and Dad. We were so happy until my father died due to heart attack. After his death everything changed, my uncle showed his true colors. He was being nice to dad because he wanted the property. But dad transferred all the property on my name. I was just 5 when dad died, after him my family was my mom. But she too left me Taani, she too left me.

His voice cracked at the end of the sentence. While Taani looked at him shocked because if his mother is dead then who is the woman he calls as mom.

Taani kept her hands on his shoulder.

T: Rey who is she whom you calls mom?

R: She is an angel for me. She is my Mom's sister who took care of me all these years. She didn't get married just for me, so that she can love me as her own child. She understands me just like every child's mom does! You know whenever I used to cry at night for Mom and couldn't sleep; she was always there to make me sleep. I have seen her crying for sister at night after I sleep. I have heard the voice of her crying, she too misses Mom a lot.

Taani was listening to him silently so that he could share his feeling with her. She too cried listening to him but was happy he had someone to take care of him.

T: can I ask you something?

She was hesitant to ask him but she really wanted to know why his uncle wanted to hurt him and why his mom left him.

R: where my Mom is and why my uncle wants to hurt me?

She looked at him surprised but still nodded her head in approval.

Some bad memories started to play in front of his eyes. How his uncle was forcing himself on his mother and he was being locked in one of the room. He saw his mother and himself running for their lives. His mother was too weak to run but just to save him she was being strong. She took him to her sister's house and made them run just to save his life. She kissed his son on his forehead one last time and said to do as his aunt says and made them to run away. He turned back only to see his mother falling in the water. He shouted out loud.

R: Mom!!!!

Taani saw him shaking and immediately hugged him.

T: Rey, its okk. I don't want to know about it. Just don't pressurize yourself.

She rubbed his back with her hands to calm him down. He hides his face in the crook of her neck feeling her touch.

R: no Taani!! I want to share it with you.

Taani was about to protest as she can't see him weak. Rey told her how his uncle would force himself on his mother. She would bear everything just for him. But that night everything changed when he came home with some men to sell Rey.

R: you know Taani he just didn't want the property but also the revenge of taking his son away from him.

T: your uncle's son? What happened to him?

R: me and his son where brothers. He is 4 years elder than me but still treat me as his friend. My uncle does an illegal business of child trafficking and he has contacts with some higher class people. And that night when he came home with his men to take me away with them and sell me, his son was also there. He came home to meet mom as he used to live in hostel. When he met mom and saw her condition and asked what happened to her and who did this? I told him everything but he didn't believe me. Then after uncle came and told to take me away he was the one to helped me and mom to run away from there. And there after I met him 2 years back. I was really happy to meet him. That's when I got to know he left the house after he helped me out and for keeping his son away he can hurt anyone. And I was so foolish to let you come in my life knowing I don't have normal life.

He took hold of her hand and said directly looking into her eyes.

I... I...am sorry Taani just be... because of me you got into trouble. I don't know what could have happened if I didn't saw them taking you. What if they would have done something to you? I could have never forgiven me knowing you were hurt just because of me. You don't know what place you hold in my heart. I want you o stay away from me but next moment I want you beside me. I just can't lose you Taani.

Both were crying

He hugged her tightly and pulled her on his lap assuring himself she is safe and fine with him and never let her go.

I just can't lose you Taani, I just can't lose you.

Suddenly everything felt silent and taani got to know after crying a lot Rey has fallen asleep she was trying to pull herself out of his grip but every time she tried, his grip on her tightened like he never wanted to let her go. After a lot of trying she made him sleep and covered him with duvet. She saw his face which looks so innocent in the moonlight. He caressed his hairs and felt an urge to kiss him, so moved closer to him and gave a long peck on his forehead but what she heard from his mouth in the sleep made her look at him in a shock.

R: I LOVE YOU TAANI! I LOVE YOU! I CAN'T LOSE YOU. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME.

Saying so he encircled his arms around her waist and pulled her closer to him and slept peacefully not knowing what he spoke in the sleep. While taani kept looking at him and his words were echoing in her ear, sleep was now far away from her eyes as the words kept playing in her ears.
