Police to question Hritik Roshan | ||||||||
| Sunil Singh Wednesday, September 19, 2007 (Mumbai) Mumbai Police may question actor Hrithik Roshan for his alleged links with the underworld. This move comes after Dawood Ibrahim's henchman Iqbal Attrawala mentioned Hrithik's name in his confession. The police claim Attrawala, who was extradited from Dubai on September 5, has given vital information on the alleged nexus between Bollywood stars, cricketers and the underworld. A day before he was deported from Dubai Attarwala had mentioned Hritihik's name in a phone conversation with NDTV. The Mumbai police interrogating Attarwala suspect he may even have brokered deals between Dawood Ibrahim and prominent Bollywood personalities. Putting bat to ball is no longer just an innocent game of cricket especially the so-called friendly matches like the one played at Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Ziyad Cricket Stadium. Attarwala deported to Mumbai from the Emirates recently, has named several Bollywood personalities who are allegedly roped in to play these matches. Matches meant to raise money for charity but organised by the underworld syndicate. The Bollywood-cricket-uderworld nexus is no secret but the jigsaw is now gradually falling into place with Attarwala's interrogation. Regular matches Attarwala regularly organised cricket matches in the emirates under his banner, Show Blitz. In a friendly encounter between Suniel XI and Wasim XI played in Abu Dhabi on April 6, 2007 was also organised by Attarwala's Show Blitz. The arrest of this underworld aide means more troubled times ahead for Bollywood with the Mumbai police saying they will question several stars. These are some of the questions the Mumbai police now hope to answer. |
