KhudA gawah was 2nd highest grossing film of the year and had a record opening, it eventually recovered it's cost, if we were to follow today's classification then it should be termed hit, if not then movies like ra1 should be termed average despite a it's big collection. The fact is judaai was always a big hit something many people have said here as it's original trade verdict at the time was superhit, but people ignored and follow boi deceit for many years. Glad they finally owned up to it. That would also mean sridevis last 2 film was major hit, also being a heroine orientated film. Incredible. If sridevi wanted to she could of followed up her judaai success and signed more films. But it shows she's not desperate. One thing bugged me that she did not win best actress for it and madhuri bad role in dtph got it despite karishma kapoor got all the plaudits

Regarding urmila performance, there wasn't much to gloat about, she played the typical heroine used for song and dance and did her part well. But sridevi made this film memorable, drama, shade if character, acting, the critics who reviewed the film went frenetic over it. She got best actress nomination in every awards that year but was snubbed for yashrajs actors.

Need to do some research in khudA gawah and laadla.
