Q Why is your and Gauri's character ending in Kyunki? Is to give a new twist to the story?
I don't have any idea and even don't know why and how they are planning to end the two characters. I am yet to shoot the scenes. Actually I am concentrating more on Kasauti which is taking most of my time and hence don't know much about what's happening in Kyunki. As for why Karan and Nandini are being shown the exit door, the channel and production house know better.

Q Isn't it surprising that you don't know why and how your role will be terminated when the end is just a few days away?
Surprising? Yes. But then these days things are kept under wrap till the last minute. Unlike earlier, actors are not told about what's going to happen tomorrow. Things change overnight and new angles and tracks are written every day.

Q Does it affect an actor's understanding of the character and performance since there is so much suspense and uncertainty about what's going to happen in the next episode?
That's the way things are functioning and by now actors are used to working for the day. But then as an actor I know my character well. The only thing I don't know is what will happen next which I take as a challenge. A new twist, a surprise element or something unexpected happening keeps you on your toes.

Q After playing Karan for four years won't you miss the show and the character?
Of course I will. It was a lovely experience. I got to do something substantial and I had great time doing the role. Karan was one of the main pillars of Virani family. After the generation leap many new characters came in and old characters were sent out and some remained out of focus. But Karan was very much there and got good screen time and space.

Q Will Karan and Nandini come back in Kyunki?
No idea. It all depends on how the story moves ahead and if Karan and Nandini are needed may be the creative people will take a call.

Q So it's Kasauti and Karam that will keep you busy?
Yes, Kasauti is keeping me busy most of the time because I am required there more. Right now Prerna needs Anurag Basu more to sort out her problems and he is supporting and standing by her. In Karam my character has not been too active lately. But I think I should be back there again in full force.

Q Why is your wife Gauri working less these days?
She prefers to work less. I am taking care of the house and she need not work if she doesn't want to. I am quite busy with my work and if she also starts working like me then we won't even have time for ourselves and may not be able to see each other every day.

Q You work for nearly 13 to 14 hours every day. Don't you feel stressed?
I like to work the way I am working right now because my system can take the pressure. I don't feel stressed at all. May be in future when I am not able to work like this I will go bit easy.

Q But do you get time for yourself when you work for 30 days in a month?
There are some easy days always. If I finish early I go out with my wife and friends. We dine out and have great fun. But if I reach home late than I eat and crash into the bed because I have to reach the sets at 9 am. It's nice to be busy when one can but I don't miss on the fun and good times. I like to work hard as well as enjoy life.
