He took her hand in his, holding her hand tightly he placed it at his chest over his heart. Tears clouded his eyes and emotions clogged his senses. There sat Arjun, besides the hospital bed on which laid his salvation, his lifeline, his Radhika.
"I know that I am not a good man, but I am all yours Radhika, all yours. I know that I don't deserve you, and that I would never be able to become a man who deserves you, but I can't let you go. I am selfish, yes I am. Out there must be a guy who is perfect for you but I, I will kill him before he tries to take you away from me. You are just mine Radhika! And I can't live without you..please..please wake up na!" Arjun sobbed.
"Please wake up...for me! I swear I will not hurt anyone now. Will just follow my heart that always leads me to you. Please wake up...I am so sorry!!" Arjun kissed her hand and cried.
From outside, Mala looked at her unconscious daughter who was lying on the hospital bed. Her Choti..
Close to her, sat the man who had not once but many times helped her daughter and her family. The man who loved her daughter to a level where he could not only die but also kill anyone for her Radhika. But she was afraid.
Not because Arjun's love for Radhika was this intense, unconditional yet over possessive and protective kind of. She was afraid because of what led Arjun and Radhika here, at hospital and in such a condition.
The guests gaped at the scene in front of them. They had come to attend the sangeet function at Khanna's place but instead the got a drama to see.
The bride was blaming her best friend of something. It wasn't clear to them but it must be shocking because the family members and closed friends looked very shocked at the bride's claims.
"Why Radhika? Why are you always around Arjun? What do you want from him? Money? Status? Or something else?" questioned Sam.
Radhika looked shocked at Sam's question. What had happened that made Sam behave like this.
"Sam? What are you.." Radhika spoke but was interrupted by Sam.
"Oh phulleez Radhika! Don't try to act innocent now! I now know your real face that you hide behind that mask of innocence. You want Arjun...don't you?" Sam questioned.
"Sam what the hell are you saying!! Just keep in mind that its our Chashni that you are talking to. She's our friend damn-it!!" Neil shouted.
"Please Neil! You don't know what this girl is capable of. She wants to snatch my Arjun from me!" Sam yelled out.
"Sam.." cried Radhika.
Neil went and stood besides Radhika, clutching her shoulders, he held his Chashni close to him.
Seeing this Sam boiled in anger and commented, "Oohhh...so she has trapped you too. I should have realized it before that small town girls like you always try to trap rich guys for selfish purposes!"
"Samaira!" yelled Radhika.
"Chillao mat Radhika! Chillana mujhe bhi aata hai!" Sam responded.
"Tell me Radhika..how many more guys are on your hit list? First it was Saral, then Neil and now you wanna trap my Arjun! You.."
Before Sam could utter one more word, she felt someone slapping her hard. Hard enough to leave marks on her cheeks for days.
She looked up to see who the hell had dared to slap her. To slap Samaira Khanna.
As she turned her face to see who has slapped her, her eyes connected to that of Arjun's. Arjun's eyes were red, blood red. Anger was evident in his features. Rage oozed out of him.
Sam looked at him with shocked expressions but Arjun, he was blinded with anger. How dare she!!??
Arjun felt his blood boiling up with every word that Sam said to Radhika, his Radhika! He didn't knew that his anger could be this intense ever. It was a very different feeling. He hadn't felt so even for Samrat Khanna who had betrayed his sister, who was his (Arjun's) whole world. But Samaira Khanna had evoked the primal, caveman like anger in him.
How dare she say such things to his Radhika? Blame her for no reason. Blinded by his anger he slapped Sam, hard on her cheek.
"Arjun?" Sam mumbled.
"What do you think of yourself haan??" Arjun roared.
While Radhika was shocked at Arjun's reaction, Neil was not. Because he knew what Arjun was feeling and always had felt for Radhika.
It didn't shocked Neil, because he had realized it long back that Arjun have feelings for Radhika. Some unrealized feelings that were coming out now. It was evident since they all came back from Lonavala-Khandala trip. But Sam like always had chosen to ignore it just like she ignored his love towards her.
Arjun was in love with Radhika. He didn't loved his Samandar Singh, Arjun loved his Chashni, and only Chashni.
"Himmat kaise hui tumhaari? How dare you talk to Radhika like this?" Arjun clutched Sam's arm tightly and shook her.
A shocked Sam, replied, "Woh...Arjun, main sach keh rahi hoon..this Radhika wants.."
Arjun pushed Sam away from him and yelled, "Radhika isn't at fault Sam! She did nothing wrong!"
"She did! She is trying to snatch you from me!" screeched Sam.
"It's not her!! It's me damn-it!!"
"Wh..wha..what?" fumbled Sam.
"Radhika isn't trying to snatch me from you! Hell! I am not yours even! It's me who wants to keep Radhika to myself only!" Arjun angrily confessed.
Nandini gasped. She stared at Arjun wide eyed. She had thought that Sam will start the blame game, insult Radhika and everything will go as they had planned. But damn!! How the hell she forgot that Arjun might do something like this. Her plan was going to backfire. She had to do something.
"Arjun...what are you.." Nandini spoke softly, trying to sound concerned.
"You stop right there!" Arjun pointed at Nandini.
"Arjun.." Nandini said loudly but was interrupted by Arjun again.
"Bas! Ab bohot ho gaya! Now I am not gonna listen to you or anyone else. I will do what my heart says!" Arjun turned to face Sam again.
"And you! How dare you accuse my Radhika like this? What do you know about her? What do you know about me!"
Nandini tried to get hold of Arjun, so that she could drag him with her and put some of her manipulated schemes in his head. But Arjun didn't let so happen. He jerked his arm out if Nandini's hold and pushed her away.
Neil caught Nandini before she could fall.
"What are you saying Arjun? Kehna kya chahte ho tum?" asked Sam.
"I just wanna say that you are stupid enough to accuse Radhika for trying to trap me, when it's me who tried to trap and successfully trapped you in the web of this false relationship."
"ARJUN!" both Sam and Nandini yelled in unison.
But Arjun wasn't going to stop now. He can handle everything but a single tear drop in Radhika's eyes wants him to burn the whole world alive.
"Oh now you two have teamed up!" Arjun let out a dark chuckle.
"You see this lady Sam!..! My Nandini Di! Do you know who exactly she is? No? I'll tell you." Arjun went towards Nandini and held her by her shoulder. Together the stood I front of Sam and Arjun continued, "She is not just my sister, she's also the same woman with whom your father had an extra marital affair. This is the woman your father betrayed. This is the woman who sent me in your life to trap you in false love and betray you just as your father betrayed her! She wants to destroy you! I was here to destroy you, take all happiness from your life and push you towards darkness."
Sam was numb to hear Arjun's confession. She hadn't thought that Arjun could do something like this and that too to her! For what? Because of her father's extra marital affair! She was shocked her father had an affair with Arjun's sister.
"I never loved you Sam. Never ever. My only mission was to make you suffer! But I hadn't thought that I will meet Radhika on this path of mine. When Radhika came in my life, I hadn't thought that she would become so much important to me. That one day I would be in love with her."
Collective gasps could be heard. Sam felt as if her whole world just shattered to millions on pieces. She wanted Arjun to stop but today it seemed no one could do that.
Arjun collapsed on his knees and cried his heart out. "Maine sirf Radhika se pyaar kiya hai! Sirf Radhika se! She makes me smile, she makes me question my ways, she makes me want to be good, just like she wants. It's her, who brings out the feelings of possessiveness and protectiveness in me. She filled my dark life with her light. She unbreaks me!" Arjun chocked.
While everybody was stunned, Nandini and Sam were the most shocked ones and Neil, he felt sympathetic towards Arjun. All this while no one noticed that Radhika wasn't there.
"I love Radhika! Only Radhika!"
Sam rushed inside, crying and sobbing while Nandini stealthily walked away. Neil came forward and put an assuring hand on his shoulder.
Arjun looked up at Neil and find the familiar feeling in his eyes. Feeling of incomplete and unrequited love.
"Radhika.." Arjun whispered.
Neil understood his silent question. He just nodded and looked back where he had last time seen Radhika.
Neil frowned and moved his gaze all around the hall but Radhika wasn't there. He panicked.
"Arjun Sir!! Neil Sir!! Boss!!" there came a panting and worried Zubin.
"What happened Zubin?" Neil questioned.
"Sir woh Radhika...Chashni..accident.." Zubin panted.
"WHAT??" Arjun yelled.
"Sir woh, actually when me and Kritika were coming here, we saw Radhika lying on the road. She met with an accident. So much blood!" Zubin sounded very much worried. It was then, when Arjun and Neil noticed the blood that covered most of Zubin's white colored kurta.
Blood. Radhika's blood. Accident.
Those thoughts made Arjun go crazy. He hurriedly asked Zubin about Radhika, who told him that Radhika was at HSM Hospital, Kritika was there with her, they had informed Radhika's parents about it too and Zubin had come here just to inform them about the same.
Neil and Arjun rushed to the hospital with Zubin. There they met Radhika's parents and brother who were worriedly eyeing the OT.
The doctor informed them that Radhika had suffered a major head wound and that nothing could be clearly said before Radhika gets conscious.
Since then Arjun has been there besides Radhika, talking to her, asking her to wake up.
Arjun felt Radhika fingers twitch in his palm. He looked up at her but still Radhika hasn't opened her eyes. This time he saw Radhika's hand move and clutch his tighter.
"Doctor!" Arjun called out.
Soon Radhika gained consciousness, doctor checked her vitals and informed Arjun and others that Radhika was now out of danger and perfectly fine.
She looked at everyone with a contemplating expression on her face. All the faces looked so unfamiliar, where were they? Where was she? What was happening?!
Arjun with a huge smile on his face, sat besides her and cupped her face in his hands.
"Oh God! Radhika!! Thank God your fine! You know how worried I was?! Why it's that you always get into trouble?" Arjun cried in happiness.
"Ji..aap?" Radhika looked at him questioningly.
"Choti..meri bacchi!" Mala sobbed and lovingly kissed her forehead.
"Kya yaar Chashni...sab ko heart attack dene ka kya naya shaunk chadha hai tujhe?" Neil joked with tear eyes.
"Woh..aap sab? Main?" Radhika looked at everyone with questioning yet confused eyes.
"What happened Radhika?" Arjun caressed her cheek.
"I don't know you all, I mean who are you and where am I? My name is Radhika?" she asked. Fear of not able to recognize the people surrounding her made her heart sank.
"What are you saying Chashni? Drama band karo tum!"
"Main sach keh rahi hoon. I am trying to remember but I am not able to. Aahh!!" Radhika clutched her head in pain and cried out. Everybody rushed towards her. The doctor was called and after examining her for few more minutes, the doctor informed them that because of the head injury, Radhika suffered memory loss. She had forgotten her whole life.
This saddened everybody but Arjun, he was taking this news as an opportunity to take away Radhika from every pain. Maybe this was God's way to protect Radhika from the pain that was inflicted up-on her by Sam.
So he went towards Mala, who had witnessed his whole confession back at Sam's place and started;
"Aunty.." he bent down in front of Mala who was sitting at a chair and continued, "I know that I am not the best choice for your daughter but I know that you know how much I love her. I want to ask you about something."
Mala patted his head lightly, she knew that Arjun wasn't wrong because she herself had witnessed Arjun taking care of Radhika, treating her as something very precious. "Bolo beta.."
"I want to marry Radhika. I love her way to much to let her go. Main jaanta hoon ki abhi uski jo haalat hai..but believe me I will take care of her. She will be safe with me, happy too."
"Arjun..saaf saaf bolo beta, what do you want to say?" Mala asked.
Arjun laid his head in her lap and said, "Maa.." he cried, "Actually main Radhika ko apne saath London le jaana chahta hoon. My main office is at London, before coming here I used to manage my own company there only. I want to marry her as soon as possible and then take her with me, away from everyone who has given her only pain. Usse har dukh se door rakhna chahta hoon main. Will you allow me to do so? Will you allow me to marry your daughter?"
Mala smiled at him with teary eyes and replied, "I know you love her a lot beta! How can I refuse you? Radhika is yours. I am happy that she got a loving and caring life partner like you. But beta remember just one thing if you hurt my Choti, I will not give you a second chance then."
Arjun just smiled and promised, "Don't worry Maa. I won't do so. Usske dard se sabse zyada dard mujhe hoga. She's not just my life, she's my salvation who at first broke me to pieces, filled love and light in my life and then unbroke me."
Arjun and Radhika got married. It was a court marriage as Radhika was still recovering and Arjun just didn't want to burden her with anything. And he didn't wanted any interruption in the start if the new phase of his life that's why they got married a day later only.
Neil, Kritika, Teji and Zubin attended their marriage too. They were happy for Radhika but equally sad for Sam. No one said anything to Radhika about her past life that she had forgotten.
Radhika was told that she and Arjun were about to marry but Radhika suffered an accident which caused her memory loss. Nothing more.
They spent few days back at Hrishikesh. Radhika was happy to get to know about her life and Arjun's care and love towards her was enough to make her believe that he was the right one for her.
Few days later Arjun and Radhika boarded the flight to London. Everything was going smooth.
Arjun gazed lovingly at his wife of 5 days as she slept soundly on his shoulder. Though she doesn't remember him or the moments they had spent together but at least she was happy. Soon they will land in London. Arjun wiped the lone tear that escaped the confines of his eyes. The new phase of their life had started and Arjun had no interest in connecting his new life with his past. Everyone can handle themselves but he couldn't do that without Radhika. So it was a better option to leave everything behind and start afresh. Arjun kissed Radhika's head who responded with a sweet smile. He entwined his fingers with hers. Life now was perfect.
