Hi Folks,
This topic is extremely close to my heart, as I'm an avid animal lover. So in good conscience I just can't stay mum and not say a word to object to what I see portrayed in this show, in fact I raise a very strong and very vehement objection towards this unfair portrayal of cats by this show. I feel the same way about EVERY animal on the face of this earth. Each and every animal has its place in nature and if it were to become extinct the repercussions are going to be long reaching and extremely detrimental to every living beings existence, including those people who unfairly depict cats, especially black ones, as evil animals!
Exactly what is it about a cat that makes people assume that it is an evil animal and what is it about a cow that makes it holy for us as hindu's? Just because it's a cat doesn't make it in any way bad, nor does the fact that a particular cat's gene pool happens to give it black fur, allow it to automatically become a so called "Witch's, or Daayin/Daayan's" (or whatever the h**l that's supposed to be anyway!) familiar! This type of stereotype will only add to the misconceptions and superstitions that exist about cats. Our family actually had a Black Cat named Topaz, along with a German Shepherd named Tricksy while I was growing up, and they were both the most gentle, affectionate sweet little pets that ever could be. They got on with each other and were not arch enemies like Tom & Jerry were either! So the advocacy of such ignorant stereotypes are truly doing us all a major disservice, by allowing this type of image to continue on in the minds of people who don't actually know any different!!!
Please for every living creatures sake, open your eyes and intellects and just stop such destructive types of dis-information from continuing, if we are to ever completely progress as a society, nation and member of the world's people!
