And i think you are missing the main point no one is saying Drau was ordinary but what we are saying is other character's were not ordinary as well.Drau is a strong and good and intelligent character' but there are other strong character's as well who are also heroes in their own ways

you are right Kunti never asked Karna to spare her sons lives, it was Karna who promised her that he will not kill them.

Going to Karna before the war was a brilliant political move, she knew that the Kauravas would not be able to kill the pandavas,

Bhishma would'nt and nor would Drona.

In fact the The only person capable of killing the Pandavas was Karna who would not have any qualms on killing them as he hated the Pandavas.

What better way to stop Karna than to tell him the truth, that way knowing that the pandavas were his brothers Karna would not be able to kill them.

And about going to Karna. Ofcourse she wanted her sons to be King but what I try to point out is even if she wanted to morally weaken him (I read some citation of her telling it to Keshav I think..) Then also I don't feel she wanted any bad of Karna.. I try to say that she loved Karna too... If we see clearly, if Karna would accept her offer, then the plan of demoralizing would not work right..Maybe Kunti knew that too? And also for a fact, demoralizing him would only not let him fight with all his mind for the wrong side.. if we see the moral part of it... (Did not want to mention this but just saying on a side note.😊)
