Bhansali's birthday gift for Ranveer

Ranveer Singh may have moved out of his family home (Mirror, June 24) to be closer to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the Bajirao Mastani sets but that hasn't weakened the bonds with his own ghar parivar. The actor turns 30 on July 6 and he plans to bring in his birthday with his near and dear ones.

According to a source close to the actor, he has been filming 12 hours a day for the historical period romance, Bajirao Mastani, since he resumed shooting following his surgery. He'd hurt his shoulder when he fell off a horse during an action sequence in Jaipur.

"He's completely committed to bringing the Maratha Peshwa to life on screen. Having acted in Ram-Leela earlier, he has realised that you don't just work with Mr Bhansali, you collaborate with him to create something special. And he has being doing just that. As a gesture of appreciation for his dedication, the filmmaker has given him an advance birthday gift-- a four-day break from work," informs the source.

A delighted Ranveer will fly out of the city with his family to a destination which at the moment is a closely-guarded secret. When he returns, he'll film some intense action sequences.

"Before he takes time off he is working round-the-clock to ensure that his holiday doesn't impact the film's schedule," adds the source.

It remains to be seen if his reallife Mastani, Deepika Padukone, joins him. For now though, it's a thumbs up to SLB.
