After Raj Kumar Gupta's Revolution 2020 failed to kick off, Arjun Kapoor has lost out on yet another film. Yash Raj's Shimit Amin-directorial starring him has been unceremoniously aborted.

Shimit was supposed to direct a big-ticket movie starring the Ishaqzaade actor for Aditya Chopra's banner but due to a combination of reasons, he has been told to drop the idea.



The YRF head honcho was eager to bankroll the film which was in the supernatural zone but suddenly had second thoughts following a series of meetings with Shimit, who then left for Cannes where he won a top prize for an advertising campaign he directed.

A source says, "After listening to Shimit, Aditya pointed out that the film would be 'commercially unviable'. For now, the project is off the YRF map. Their next major two productions include Ali Abbas Zaffar's Salman Khan-starrer Sultan and Vijay Krishna Acharya's untitled project with Hrithik Roshan."

"However, Arjun is likely to do another YRF film which will be announced shortly, " the source added.

😆 Adi can be so ruthless at times..Another YRF film means nothing..They make a lot of trashy films anyway so giving Arjun another Gundey or Kill Dil is no compensation to shelving a Shimit Amin project 😆

On that note, all those arguments worth 20 pages about whether Arjun deserves a Shimin Amin project or not has gone to waste 😆

Maybe YRF personnel have been stalking IF, saw our displeasure at Arjun bagging this one and put a stop to the project.

I think it was always a publicity stunt by Arjun. Now that he got two films this film has been 'dropped'.

Agree with the above post ,Arjun in a Shimit Amin film was looking like a false story from every angle
