LD eyed his cellphone as he cursed his luck under his breath. How are they going to get out of here before the sun sets and the jungle would likely become as dangerous or even more than the masked men who wanted to take their life an hour ago.
Radha placed her hand on her paining back and stopped walking suddenly.
"I can't walk anymore. My legs are really sore and I can barely move them." She complained to LD as seated herself on a medium sized rock beside a tree.
"We have no choice, we need to get out of here before it gets dark." He spoke to her as his eyes stayed fixed on his phone.
She carefully lifted herself up and tried to walk again when she lost balance and found herself embraced with LD's hands instead of the ground.
He carried her in his arms without saying a word as he took his steps deeper into the forest. She stared at him as her arm hung around his neck. How stupid she was to think LD was in love with a woman other than her, when his love and care towards her is so obvious. She smiled to herself as she enjoyed being in his arms and leaned closer every now and then to inhale his masculine scent. LD continued to look ahead to avoid meeting her eyes and losing himself in them as he usually does.
They continued to walk when LD felt a drop of rain embrace the left side of his cheek. He lifted his eyes towards the sky and noticed the sun that was up a while ago replaced with grey clouds doubling themselves menacingly.
"Great. This was what we needed." He placed Radha down as his facial features defined tension.
Radha looked worriedly into the sky and it didn't take her a lot of time to comprehend what LD was talking about.
"Oh god, what are we going to do now?" She wrapped her dupatta around her body that was embracing the cool raindrops by now.
"We have to find some kind of shelter until the rain stops. Come on." He turned his face towards Radha signaling her to come along.
They moved their feet through the jungle trying to find a place to hide until the sky would stop pouring. The muddy ground was making it difficult for them to move along because their feet would get stuck every now and then. They forced themselves to walk anyways since they had no other choice.
LD continued to walk as Radha tugged along behind him stopping every now and then to fix her chappal that got covered in mud with each step she took.
"Ahhh!" she let out a scream as her feet slipped down the muddy ground and her body rolled down further into the mud.
LD froze in his steps as he heard her scream pierce through the forest.
"I'm here." she replied the anger and frustration defining her tone. LD peeked down and saw her covered with mud. He breathed a sigh of relief to find out that she was ok but he couldn't help it but smile to himself at the sight of her. She was covered with mud from top to bottom, including her face.
"Are you going to help me?" she asked in her most innocent tone as she stretched her hand to him so he can pull her up.
LD rolled his eyes at the trouble this girl keeps falling into. He stretched his arms towards her and finally got caught of her hand and tried to pull her towards him. Instead of pulling her up, he found himself getting pulled down with her. His body rolled down into the mud and landed beside her while his face fell straight into the mud. He pulled his face that was caked with mud and curled his fists angrily.
She couldn't hold her laugh any longer and burst out into uncontrollable laughter.
He gave her a deathly stare that made her hold her laughter again.
"Sss...Sorry." She spoke softly trying to hold her laugh once again.
He angrily raised himself on his knees and looked at his muddy clothes in disgust.
"Now Mrs. Radha if you are done with your laughing session, can we get going again?"
She quietly got up on her feet and didn't dare utter another word to him. She thanked god with herself that LD wasn't aware of the fact that she purposely made him fall along with her. She smiled to herself sneakily again and made sure he wasn't watching her.
They took a couple of steps ahead and stopped under the rain to wash the mud off themselves. They felt the cool raindrops mix with the mud and trail down their face and arms. LD starred at her mesmerized by her beauty under the rain. Her wet locks hugged the side of her cheeks, while her wet clothes stuck to her body, outlining the shape of her sexy figure. He gulped and turned his face away to divert his attention from her.
He noticed her taking her steps towards him and his heart started to race like a runaway train. She stopped a couple of inches away from him and lifted her hand towards his chin and wiped a piece of mud that hanged there. He stared at her and their eyes interlocked immediately. Lifting his hand carefully, he placed his thumb on her cheek and brushed his finger over the spot of mud that sat on her cheek. She closed her eyes as she felt his touch and a chill went up her spine.
BBBOOOM!!!!! The thunder hit their ears like a gunshot and Radha found herself wrapping her arms around LD, as she hid her face into his chest. He blinked suddenly as if someone had just hit his head with a rod and brought him back to his senses. What was he going to do? He couldn't believe that he was about to kiss Radha and was only a few seconds away from doing it if the thunder hadn't interrupted them. He closed his eyes in disbelief and then shifted his eyes towards Radha who was clutching on to his shirt as she dug her face into his chest.
"It...It's o..k." He spoke in a low voice as he placed his arm around her shoulder. She opened her eyes aware of what she was doing and shyly moved herself away.
They walked the road silently both feeling awkward at what just happened a couple of minutes ago.
LD continued to ask himself why he feels so weak when he's in front of her. Why does he completely lose himself when she's around? Why can't he dislike her no matter what she does?
"LD, look over there." Radha's voice interrupted the questions that soared through his head.
"There is a hut." She exclaimed.
LD looked towards the direction she was pointing and the hut she was talking about came into view. They moved their feet towards it and stopped in front of its door. It was a small hut and it looked like no one was inside. LD entered first and Radha followed him inside and they continued to explore the place with their eyes.
He found a mat and rolled it on the floor and hinted to Radha to sit down. She draped her dupatta around herself and quietly seated herself down.
"I will be right back. Stay here." He turned his back and walked out the door, while Radha's eyes followed him.
She stared around the place and wondered where LD had gone.
She thought of going to search for him and decided not to do it since he would get angry if he knew she didn't' listen to him, so she decided to just sit and wait.
About twenty five minutes later, LD showed up with a small watermelon placed in his hands.
He seated himself beside her and with a fling with his arm, he thrust the side of his hand into the watermelon causing it to crack. He offered a half to Radha while he took the other half.
Radha smiled at him. "Thank you. "
The sky was replaced with a black curtain now and the stars hung to it like little shining diamonds.
LD stretched his feet as he wrapped his arm behind his head and stared at the night sky that peaked through the hut's window.
"We need to stay here tonight. Hopefully we will find a way to get out of here tomorrow." He spoke to her as his eyes continued to gaze at the dark sky.
Radha silently closed her eyes, hoping he was right and they will surely find a way tomorrow.
LD shifted to his right side and closed his eyes to sleep, when he noticed Radha shivering as she slept. He moved himself closer to her and wrapped his jacket around her, trying to warm her up. He touched her clothes and noticed them still wet. She needed to change her clothes as soon as possible or she was going to fall ill. He walked around the hut looking for something to cover her up and noticed a white cloth hanging on the back of a broken chair. Lifting it up with his hand, he found it to be a white saree. His eyes shifted back to Radha who was still shivering on the mat. He seated himself beside her and closed his eyes as he turned her sideways and mumbled to himself.
"I have to do it. I can't risk Radha's life."
Slowly and hesitantly he moved his hand towards her back and caught the dori with his fingers and pulled it open. He tried to keeps his eyes as closed as possible as he began removing her clothes and trying to fit her petite body into the white sari with difficulty. He couldn't help it but notice her beautifully carved body. Her skin was as smooth as a baby's and still wet from the rain. His heart started to pound like a drum in his ears. He could swear that it was going to burst right out of his chest at any minute right now. He tried to shift his concentration on getting her dressed and was finally able to fit her body into the saree yet not the right way since he's never dressed anyone in a saree before. He stared at her body as it shivered between his hands. His eyes shifted to her beautiful face, her eyelashes hanging down her closed eyelids.
He moved himself away and felt her hand still holding on to his shirt and shivering. She was still feeling cold and he knew he needed to do something to keep her warm. Not giving it a second thought, he moved himself closer to her and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer to him. As his body touched hers, he noticed how cold she was and in order for her to survive through the night, he needed to keep her warm with his body. He pushed her closer to him and wrapped his arms tightly around her as she dug herself deeper into his body feeling its warmth. He felt his heart leave his body as her skin made contact with his. He stared at her once again as her body started warming up and planted a light kiss on her forehead before he fell asleep.
Radha slowly started to open her eyes and lifted herself off the mat when she noticed white cloth falling off the side of her body. She shifted her eyes towards it and her eyes went wide in disbelief as she noticed herself wrapped in a shining white cloth that looked like a saree. She gasped, which made LD turn around and face her.
"Woh...Ummm. You were actually shivering the whole night yesterday. Your clothes were soaking wet. So... I... Well I had to change your clothes...so you don't fall ill." He paused as he turned his face away.
Radha closed her eyes in embarrassment, wishing the earth would open up and swallow her right at this moment. She shyly lifted herself from the mat and stood outside the hut, trying to avoid his eyes.
She peeked at her cellphone and her eyes jumped in excitement as she noticed the network connection.
"LD!!!!" She yelled his name.
"The network connection is back! Call someone for help."
LD came rushing towards as she handed him the phone to dial a number. He called his men and in a couple of minutes they showed up with a jeep and took Radha and LD away.
LD sat at the front seat as he noticed Radha sitting behind him shyly.
One of his men turned the radio on and the song Aaj phir tum pe pyaar aaya hai started to play.
Aaj phir tum pe pyaar aaya hai behad aur beshumaar aaya hai.

LD peeked at Radha through the rear view mirror and turned his eyes away when he noticed her staring back at him. They shifted their eyes away in embarrassment feeling awkward with the atmosphere.
LD moved his trembling fingers towards the radio and turned it off as the car vanished into the road.
