Chapter 21

~Questions Questions and Questions~

Gunjan woke up shocked to look at the time. "Kalpana?" was the first person she could think of on opening her eyes. Quickly putting her blanket and Mayank's hand on side she got off from her bed and headed outside to look for Kalpana ... "Did she leave??" sighed Gunjan sadly. "Wasn't she suppose to take me along?" "How could she leave?" "It's sure not safe!" were all the thoughts crossing her mind. Hurrying up in quickest way, Gunjan made her way downstairs to see if Kalpana is visible anywhere... But her anxiety increased as she was not seen anywhere near and Gunjan headed back in her building.

Doctor gives injection to Kalpana who was still lying on his bed not in her consciousness. Doctor however assured Raghav she will be fine, and he has given her injection, which will not actually help her in waking up earlier. He added she had fallen unconscious due to weakness and stress and to take care of her. Raghav nodded as he escorted him outside.

After doctor left he took Kalpana's phone in his hand and removed it's sim card and broke it into two pieces so as to not let anyone else be able to trace the card or number. Raghav turned to go to his room, when he noticed Nattu entering the mansion through main door, and he stood there staring at him.

Gunjan enters her house and searches for her cell phone till she finds it lying on the dining table of the house. She picks it up and scrolls to search for Kalpana's number. Dialling the number she desperately puts her phone on ear to get shock of phone being unable to reach... It was enough for her to get into her panic state as she rushed towards direction of her bedroom.

Nattu was shocked to see Raghav still at home, as he tried to move from other side to kitchen. "Where were you kaka?" asked Raghav in a strong tone. Nattu got scared hearing him, as he turned around not being able to meet his eyes, he just replied, "Baba, I had gone to buy milk," and picked up the milk cans he carried. "And was there any need to call Kalpana for the same?" he questioned in same strong tone. Nattu was shocked... As if his biggest lie had been detected by Raghav. He started stammering while trying to figure out some excuse and breathed pretty heavily... making it evident about his search for words... Raghav looked on as he spoke, "In my room within 10 minutes... Better think of Best excuse in these 10 minutes..." saying so Raghav turned back, grinning and leaving worried Nattu behind.

"Mayank Get up!" Gunjan called out to him trying to wake him up by shaking him. Mayank lousily opens his eyes and is shocked to see Gunjan in tears and sits up... "Mayank..." Gunjan started speaking with tears visible in her eyes... "Mayank... Kalpana is missing!" she completed... Her words shocked Mayank... as he looked on to her and Gunjan started explaining to him.

Raghav sat there next to Kalpana... and Nattu entered, determined to tell him part of truth... Moment he stepped in the room, he was shocked ... Utterly shocked to see Kalpana lying there. He then looked at Raghav completely confused who was looking straight at him. Nattu placed the water he brought on the side table... As he askd, "How did Kalpana Ji come here?" ... Raghav looked at him, "Why?? What did you think kaka? Only you can guide her till mansion? Not anyone else?" Nattu bowed his head at his words, as Raghav again continued, "Now will you care to explain?" Nattu looked at him as he started speaking to Raghav...

"What the heck Gunjan?" shouted Mayank... "And you are telling me ALL THIS right now??" Mayank spoke... Gunjan stood up in tears and trembled listening to her husband speaking so loudly... Mayank realized his tone and calmed... as he continued, "Gunjan? Now what?? You should have told me all this long back.. or at least yesterday!!! You thought you will handle everything didn't you?" he asked softly, yet anger obvious in his tone. Gunjan stood there looking down tears rolling down her eyes!

"And you didn't bother to tell me a bit of it?" confirmed Raghav as Nattu looked down and spoke, "Sorry, baba, it's just that I was really scared... You have not been in good mood lately, and I do not know how would have you reacted..." And his words were cut by Raghav,... "That is not an EXCUSE!" he shouted... "If you are doing something against my permission, or bringing someone to meet me, you are suppose to ask me! Forget asking, atleast care to inform me..." barked Raghav making Nattu continue looking down in embarrassment... "Baba, but Kalpana isn't at fault... She was here just to meet you once..." Nattu spoke defending Kalpana... "I am not blaming her... she was just coming to meet me... and I do not object that... My problem is that... one you helped her escape, even with my strictest warning of making sure she would be at home. And point 2, you were planning to bring her back and all without dropping a single piece of information to my knowledge..." Raghav frowned... and finally asked him to leave...

"Look..." Mayank started again, "Just leave it all... Let us head to mall and then police station and see some hopes for help." Mayank told Gunjan and she just nodded... "Go and get ready, we need to act quickly."

Raghav informed Sammy, "Kalpana is over at my house and I will explain you everything later on... I will be working from home."

It was almost 2, and they were constantly failing to locate Kalpana, Mayank and Gunjan headed towards their associate's office, as Gunjan was pretty sure to find some sort of help there... Sammy refused to know anything about Kalpana and internally feeling tinge of guilt biting him, but still helplessness for sake of his friendship with Raghav. Gunjan demanded to meet Raghav once... "Only he is the one who can help us out at this time of need..." thought Gunjan, who knew well about Raghav's feelings towards Kalpana. Sammy hesitated initially, but called up Raghav personally moving into other room and told him about Gunjan's wish. Raghav agreed to talk to Gunjan ...

Gunjan: Sir, the thing is... Kalpana ... we are not able to find her anywhere...

Raghav: What?? Where did she go?

Gunjan: We really have no clue... (almost crying...) ...

Raghav: Please don't worry... Did you complain in police station?

Gunjan: No... sir, they need person to be missing for atleast 24 hours... before they lodge the complaint... I really do not know who is this per...
Gunjan paused...

Raghav: Anmol...? Right that's his name?

Gunjan: Sir.. the truth is ... we do not even know his name... nor the one who was to guide Kalpana to his place... How will find her??? (Again sobbing..)

Raghav: If you trust me... I assure you Kalpana will be safe! And you will see her within next 48 hours...!!

Gunjan was feeling bit assured and positive hearing Raghav's words, but her worries though lessened didn't really vanish... She continued her call answering some other questions asked by Raghav ... and finally decided to hang up... Before hanging up however,

Gunjan: Sir...

Raghav who was about end the call ... puts the phone again on his ears...

Raghav: Yes?

Gunjan: River Side Caf ... Yes... that's where we can find the clue..!!!

She said excitedly... and told him about her meeting with cashier in the shop.

Gunjan: Sir he told me...

(Flashback...)

Gunjan had gone to cashier... and asked him, "You seem to be knowing that lady...? Had she been here before?" Cashier was confused by her question and wondered if he should tell something... "Look there is some crime involved... Tell me the truth..." threatened Gunjan to make him tell something. Cashier told her ... "Ma'am that evening like 3 weeks back, that lady was here in our cafe, with some man. He was kind... but seemed irritated with her, and her talks and behaviour. Ma'am that lady also seemed to be drunk and not in her senses that day... maybe she did murder someone... in her state... But not here... nothing in my witness ma'am... trust me..." stated cashier fearing Gunjan... as Gunjan said... "Ok... but... did they leave cafe? I mean when did they leave the place?" inquired Gunjan...

"Ma'am, that sahab who was with her, got up angrily, and she was shocked at his reaction, he left first and she followed him... in her weak state... but as far as what I had seen was that Sahab left and she was standing there outside for about 3-4 minutes... maybe wondering what to do... and then she too left... " cashier replied exactly about things he had known and seen. Gunjan... looked on... "anything else?" cashier gulped as he spoke... "Ma'am and nothing more about that lady... that man... who was with her... he came back.. and asked about her.. but we couldn't find her... and he left too.." his words had confused Gunjan by now...

Flashback Ends...

Gunjan: Hence sir, I really do not know, if the man in cafe was same with whom kalpana met again, or was it completely different person who was with her... But that man for us is nothing more than stranger.

Raghav smiled recalling that adventurous evening along with their walk.

Raghav: Ok... I will visit the cafe don't worry... assured Raghav.

Gunjan nodded as she spoke, "Sir, you can ask him for details of the man who was with her... and tell cashier that you are inspector, or take some police with you... he can help alot..." Raghav smiled hearing Gunjan's words... and looked at Kalpana... "Such a sweet sister, you have got Kalpana..." he thought as he stared at her... and spoke on phone.. "I will find Kalpana... You don't worry..."... he assured... and Gunjan... just added ... "I will also try my best on my part..."

and Both cuts the call.

Raghav sat down smiling as his mind goes past to where gunjan had stopped... "Kalpana had waited for 3-4 minutes and she left the cafe area..."

Flashback:

Raghav was in the car with driver driving it while Raghav looked on angrily recalling her words... about old people and their needs and why should they be helped... He started having flashes of his own mother, and grandmother... his mother and father dying and yet his helplessness which didn't let him meet her mother.. thanks to THOSE OLD PEOPLE... ORTHODOX AND STUBBORN! all he could think of... angrily.

... It was just after 10 minutes... of travelling has his anger been cooled... AND he remembered HER, when they sat on the bench, her being scared of dog and hugging him, her enjoying in the winds... her state of innocence.. her... ! ... "OMG... what have I done..." he realized... she wasn't even in her senses... "What if??? What if someone tries to take her advantage, or some other ... it's not safe for her..." thought Raghav worried... and told driver to take turn and head back to cafe... He reached cafe and looked around where he last saw Kalpana but couldn't find her... His breathing had increased and he entered the cafe and asked cashier and other people.. if they had seen Kalpana.. One of them had pointed in some direction, ...

Raghav had ran around trying to find her... but had failed miserably... till he remembered something... Raghav (Sorry.. I will have to find out colour which I had mentioned earlier.. will do it and add later on... Till then accept red backless dress...) immediately ran in direction of right... till he once again reached riverside... and heaved a sigh of relief in seeing back side of woman in backless red outfit... He almost had tears... He had never panicked so much for anyone in her life other than his own parents... but.. today... he wouldn't have forgiven himself had she not been around... He saw her back... as she faced the riverside... as in deep thoughts...!! He slowly approached her feeling guilty and intention of apologizing to her...

But was stunned to see her eyes red and droplets of water (tears...) near her cheeks... He placed his right hand on her left shoulder and she was startled and looked at him... She smiled.. "So you are back?" she asked with smile... even in tears... which surely indicated.. she was recalling something painful and sad!

Oh my god. Kitna innocent ban raha hai na raghav gunjan k saamne. Jaise kuch pata hi na ho. Dekhna to yeh hai k kalpi kaise band bajati hai raghav ki and curious to know what had actually happend dat night. N how dey both will resolve dere issues. Nice update dear. M little but confused wid raghav's nature in dis story. But dheere dheere geeting into it.
