My Career:
There is not any success without efforts. If one is confident than he can become Amitabh and rule. My career will also one day become of such example. When I left college ramp I went towards modelling where I did many commercials but most noteworthy is that of Breeze soap which was shot for two to three days in Hyderabad. In that my costar was Gauri Pradhan who is now my wife, infact that was her debut commercial and she was quiet nervous, we met at airport but we did not know that we were costars of each other. I found Gauri quiet boring. She all the time used to sit in a corner with a book in her hands. And I used to say everyone with bet that this girl wants to prove herself scholar that's why she keeps book with her. At that time I had not any idea that this boring girl will make my life fun and I could not imagine to live without her. After Breeze comercial I read in newspaper the advertisement of Balaji Production that they are in need for a new face for their serial. I sent my snaps over there and I was selected. Before audition I was very confident that I am selected so there is surely something special in me. But when I went there I came to know that there are 100 boys besides me. At that moment I was going to be upset but my optimistic not allowed me to do so. There was audition and I was the lucky guy who wa selected for Ghar ek mandir. My debute serial for Balaji so you can say that I am discovery of this production house. Although my role was very small in this serial of Sony but stil I got my identity and Ektaji casted me for Kabhi Sautan Kabhi Saheli. After that Ramola Sikand's Kahin Kisi Roz I played the role of Nakul. That character made people realize that who is Hiten as an actor. That character was also not so legthy but, because of its meaty stuff, was popular. After observing my talent and popularity Ekta planned for Kutumb. Because it was not about problems of saas bahu, problems among different family members or laakho kay ghaplay it became very popular serial. Even Ekta did not expect such popularity. People accepted me in the role of Pratham. Those who used to hate me, after progressing of serial started loving me. This serial is the cause of making me star in telly world. For which I am very thankful to Ekta. After becoming hit of Kutumb, our affair was also become hit like of Kashish and Sujal. Initially I was not casted in Gauri's serial Naam Gum Jayega but to make high TRPs of serial I was also signed for this serial. This must be called the success of our couple. After Kutumb my serial Meet was casted on ZTV, in which I played the role of frustrated lover and of husband with extra marital affairs. Soon Ekta called me for Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi in which I was casted as son of Mandira. Karan wants love which turned into negative because of certain situations. Then Tulsi's love changed his life. Somewhat was of this was like in Kutumb also, in which Pratham was in habbit of changing girls initially he was not hero but villain of the serial but slowly slowly his grey shades turned into white and he came as a lover. Nowadays my soap Kkoi dil mai hai is on air and I am also in star plus's kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi. I am not busy anywhere else. Although I got many offers, but now I want to make myself limited with these two projects.
My working Schedule:
Those who work in daily soaps their schedule is very tight. We shot for twenty days in month. My twenty days are booked for Balaji and they have to complete their work in those days. I cannot understand how can Ekta handle this all. She is just like an anchor person. On creative side she observe every minute thing… Balaji telefilms is really a proffesional platform. Here neither you are treated badly, nor kindness is shown towards you without any reason. My and Gauri's point of view is that these people are thorough proffesion. During 20 days shot in month I shot for 12 pm to 9pm. Before marriage my routine was different. I used to go from home at 7am and come back at 12am but now my wife cannot tolerate it. Neither she herself shot after 9'o clock nor she allows me to do so. After 10 my entry is banned in home. After marriage personal and proffesional fronts have become very easy for me and this is all because of my caring wife Gauri.
My favourites:
I like life and to live alive. And along with living I understand the need of laughing and to make others laugh. I am not a difficult person. Like you people I also like somethings and dislike somethings. In food I can eat anything, infact there is not any favourite dish of mine but Gauri like chinese very much that's why I have to eat nowadays chinese only. Well, its cool. Black is my favourite colour and other than it I like all bright colours while my wife likes light colours. My favourite actor is Shahrukh Khan and actress is Kajol and I love Dilwalay Dulhanya Lay Jayengay. My star is pisces and I have all good and bad qualities found in this star.
Family affairs:
My father made me do commerce graduation because he wanted to see me as a banker. Infact, my dad is bank manager. My mom is house wife and like other women she also likes to see all family dramas besides of her son and daughter in law. I have two brothers who previously used to worked in Shamik Dawar and Raju Khan's group as dancer but now they have opened their own dance school. Dad never knew that his sons will choose the line which he used to hate. Believe me, when in my childhood, my neighbour Rajat uncle, who was in advertising agency, wished to make me sign for a commercial my father strictly denied for it and said to Rajat uncle that he will not allow his sons to even see the glimpse of Show bizz world. Now whenever Rajat uncle meets my dad, he reminds him what he used to say previously but my dad not feel shy but proudly talks about his son. My family used to live in Borivili but after marriage me and my wife shifted to apartments near Juhu. The reason for this separation was not fight between saas bahu but because of our life style. Because we both are in same proffesion so we understand that besides of us two, no one can bear this way. That's why we gave prefrence to live separately. Mom sometimes makes complaint that you in your serials promote joint family and in real life live separately. Believe me we do this for their convinience so that they donot have to feel any problem (because of daily tight schedule of working).
Scandal and Affair:
I am again lucky guy whose affair was popular with the girl who is now my wife. Except Gauri, I have never been got linked up with anyone. But in modeling days there was some news published with my comodel Ema. But that stories were not strong enough and rumors were ended. I am also lucky because there is not controversy about me and people not tried creating misunderstandings between me and Ekta. My friends although hurt me by saying you are doing Ekta's job like you have got government job. Now no one can make you out from television.
Actually Ekta is very high tempered and she cannot tolerate any mistake in her work. That is the reason she gets angry on people and they say bad about her on back (back biting). These people are those who giving interview in press or stage says to Ekta Kapoor as God mother and queen of soaps. I hate such hypocrite people. I understand the nature of Ekta. She at one time takes many responsibilities. That's why her temper loose very often. Important thing is that artists must understand their responsibilities and become proffesional like Ekta. And then they will never have to get scolded from Ekta.
What in future?
There is much more beyond the stars. Surely television is not my destiny. I want to go beyond i.e. on silver screen. Regarding films I am damn serious. You have watched me in two films and also said Hiten what are you doing? But believe me many times you have to work for the sake of friends whom we cannot say no. So that's why I have worked in film of Ekta and have also play the small role in film of Subhash Ghai. Well you see your favourite Karan will one day become like, Sidhu of Ram Gopal Verma's film or Raj or Rahul of Yash Chopra's film, and will come infront of you. It is my heartiest desire to work with Zubeida maker Shyam Bengal and I know my dream will come true one day watch out for Hiten Tejwani casted in next Shyam Bengal venture. You also learn to live hopefully and see one day how your dreams will come true.
