So here it is...
Tu hai toh I'll be all right
"Agar chaahti toh rukh jaati parr nahi...she was happy to go there...matlab saaf hai beta...madrasan ko thodi choot deh toh chakma deh kar udd jaathi hai"
Raavan Kumar was at his usual mumbling, conflicting around with his own thoughts about his Jhansi ki Rani. He was not one bit happy with the sudden new arrangement of sending her to her amma's place for rest. Yes, she needed complete rest but why can't she do the same here, right before his eyes. Atleast he could see her always but no, his mother and her mother had literally conspired against him and his nave wife was so ignorant of his thoughts that she also nodded to it.
His expressions screamed out his thoughts and his kids were the first to catch him off guard.
"Papa, aap Ishima ko miss kar rahe ho na?"
Ruhi's sudden question received an impulsive answer from him, "Haan..."
He snapped out and corrected his words, "Matlab...nahi ...usse kaun miss karega? Main kuch aur soch raha tha...aap dono ne khaana khaaya?"
Ruhi was instant in her reply,"topic change matth karo papa"
Adi was the next to giggle and reply, "Jhoot bolna bhoori baat hai na Ruhi?"
Raman looked at his kids and instantly realized that his kids knew him and his thoughts too well that he cant fool them. So he nodded and complained to them about their Ishima like a small kid whose candy was snatched away from his hand. The kids had fun chiding and teasing him for letting her go and now repent for the same.
Ruhi took the final call, "Toh yeh decided hai ke kal subah papa jaayenge aur Ishima ko leke aayenge...ok papa?"
Raman nodded while muttering to himself, "Agar usske amma appa maan jaaye toh ok...warna unnke beti ko kidnap karna padega"
Raman lay on the bed restlessly. He never thought it would be so difficult to sleep in her absence. Even one night was seeming so long and never ending. He kept tossing around the bed in tandem with the clock's movement. It looked like the clock too was conspiring against him as time wasn't moving at all. It was just going to be 10 and so many hours to go before it would be morning and he could see her again. The reality stared at him and he felt miserable. Nothing works for him without her. He was like a lost and lonely kid without his paagal madrasan. Her void and the deafening silence tormented him like hell.
Without teasing and taunting her, he couldn't survive a day in peace. Without seeing her, he couldn't sleep. It wasn't an obsession but a sweet intoxication without which he felt agonized and alone.
He sent her a message, "Ghar ke baahar aao..." But didn't receive a reply back and he scolded her, "aaraam se gode baech ke so gayi hogi...kumbakarni! Aur ek main hoon ke usse miss kar raha hoom..."
Precisely after 5 minutes, he got out of the bed deciding that it wasn't going to work this way. He wouldn't be able to sleep without her. He had to see her now...right now.
Naughtily cooking up plans to first get into amma's house, he took some medicines which Ishita used to take previously and marched straight out of the room. Stealthily walking out of their apartment, he slowly tried to push the door of her amma's place.
It wasn't opening. It was bolted from inside. He blew up his hair in annoyance as he smacked himself, "Obviously locked hoga na? tu bhi na beta...first usse jaane dehta hai aur phir miss karta hai...ab soch ke andar kaise gusega...balcony hota toh usse chadta...usske room ke kidki se?"
He hit the back of his head for all the silly ideas and reminded himself that he wasn't a teenager but a CEO.
Without a choice, he knocked the door, muttering in his mind what he had to tell them.
Appa opened the door after a few knocks. He was surprised and confused to see Raman at that hour,
"Raman, tum yahaan???"
"Haan appa...sorry disturb kiya...actually yeh..."
Appa snapped him and invited him in, "arre nahi nahi...aa jao..."
Raman went on with his explanation,"Ishita ki medicines wahaan reh gaye..toh..."
He didn't complete his reason as appa understood while amma came out enquiring who it was,
"Vishwa, yaar athu?"
Seeing Raman, she added, "aiyoo Raman...enna aachu? What happened?"
Appa explained and amma smiled, "ohhh accha accha...yeh mujhe deh dho...Ishu ko deh doongi"
Saying that, she took the medicines from his hand and almost meaning that he can go back peacefully. Seeing his plan almost heading towards a flop, he hastily said, "Actually mere room ke AC chal nahi raha...toh maine socha ke aaj raat main yahi pe..."
He somehow managed to say that out and amma was instant, "haan haan why not? Vishwa, tum Raman ko humaare room mein le jao...main Ishu ke saath so jaavungi"
Raman was baffled by his mother-in-law's idea while Vishwa was horrified by the memory of the other night, "no no Madhu..."
Before both could argue on where Raman had to sleep, Raman pitched in, "Amma, appa...main Ishita ke saath so jaavunga"
The literal meaning of the words made amma and appa embarrassed. They were left with no other reply other than a mere OK but amma didn't miss to add, "Raman...doctor ne bola ke Ishu strain nahi kar sakti...so sambaal ke haan?"
She reluctantly, indirectly warned her son in law about the fragile state of her daughter. Probably, her amma's experienced eyes could read Raman's desperation.
Raman couldn't help stomping his feet on the floor in frustration for having to get such an advice but he nodded and replied calmly, "I will take care of her amma...don't worry"
His mind muttered, "jab woh teek taak thi tab strain nahi kiya toh aaj kya khaas karoonga...madrasan ki poori family paagal hai yaar!"
Saying that, he quickly sprinted to her room without giving another chance for her amma to give further advices.
Noiselessly he stepped in and closed the door. She lay curled up on the bed, the blanket pulled up just to her legs carelessly.
His first thought was of course a taunt for her sleeping peacefully without him while the very next second, her innocent poised form lured him to her and he was by her side on the bed. He pulled the blanket over her properly till her chest, before settling his gaze on her face.
In the dim glow of the night lamp, her face looked fairer than ever. He also realized that she had become pale due to the exhaustion though her cheeks looked like red apples. He minced back his urging desire to bite and taste them. He knew that it would get all the more difficult to control himself further if he did that. He wouldn't be able to stop with just a kiss or a bite at this point when he was so close to her. Let her get well soon and then nothing could stop him. He grinned sheepishly at his own mischievous thoughts
He moved a strand of her loose tresses and tucked it behind her ear. Lingering his fingers a little longer over her smooth ear lobes, he traced a gentle delicate line over her cheeks, right down to her neck line and shoulders. His lips envied his finger tips which took its liberty and touched her rightfully.
He leaned over her but neither his body nor his lips touched her yet. The lesser the distance, the more was the pull of attraction towards her.
In a faint voice, she spoke sleepily, "Aa gaye aap Raman? I missed you"
He stopped his slow ministrations right then wondering if he disturbed her sleep. She turned around hastily, putting her arms around him, snuggling intimately, burying herself into his chest. She was literally in his arms and he couldn't stop his hands from hugging her back.
Though he tightened his grasp on her and nuzzled closer, her further movement ceased and that's when he realized that she was still in her sleep. When she had completely turned around to come into his arms, something fell on the bed from her hands. He realized that it was his photo that she had been hugging close to her chest while she slept.
He smiled and caressed her hair fondly, "I miss you too madrasan...main hoon na...ab iss photo ki zaroorat nahi"
Putting away the photo frame on the table, he hugged her taking his place rightfully on her chest. Her heart beats paced up even when in sleep, probably her heart could feel his proximity and its rhythm was soothing enough to send him into sleep.
