abhi: TUM!
Inspector shunya! tum iss samay yahan kya kar rahi ho!
shunya: sir, daya... i mean senior inspector daya ki tabiyat kharab...
abhi: achha, par tumhe ye sab pata kaise chala, hain? aur tum abhi wahan se bhagi kyun? kya chal kya raha hai tumhare dimaag mein?
shunya: wo...wo sir...
abhi: (interrupts in anger) inspector shunya mujhe tumse koi safai nahi chahiye...mujhe bas ye janna hai ki tumhara daya ke ateet ke saath kya sambandh hai?
(shunya looks at him in shock, but remains silent)
aise chup-chap kya khadi ho, jawaab do...JAWAAB DO INSPECTOR SHUNYA!
shunya: HAAN SIR! hai samabdh mera daya ke ateet se!
(in tears) mein daya ke jeewan ke un lamhon ka hissa hun sir, jo usne apne dimaag ke kisi kone me daba di hain...jinme sirf dard hai, taqleef hai...
please sir, main aapke haath jodti hoon, jaane dijiye mujhe aur band kar dijiye daya ki zindagi ke uss panne ko... nahi to wo toot jayega sir (abhijeet shivers in fear, shunya continues with tears in her eyes) toot jayega mera dayu sir!
abhi: (stunned) d..d..dayu? mera dayu?
(before abhijeet can ask shunya anything further, he gets a call from a man that there is a dead body in XYZ factory... )
abhi: is samay to mai iss baat ko yaheen khatam kar raha hoon...ek case report hua hai aur farz sabse upar hai... par tumhe jald hi humare saare sawaalon ke jawaab dene honge... (and he calls acp sir and the team to the bureau...shunya silently follows...from there, they move to the site...on way, the team is briefed about daya sir's condition...they are all shocked but compose themselves...)
Scene- xyz factory: they reach the factory and find a man's dead body... when they turn him over..
Nikhil: sir, aisa lagta hai ki maine inhe kahin dekha hai...
Sachin: arre sir, ye to mashoor social worker viraaj hain, jo child rights aur women empowerment ke liye ek sanstha chalate hain!
acp: arre haan, yeh to viraaj hi hai! par ye yahan? kuchh to gadbad hai!
meanwhile, inspector shunya and vansh searching the pockets of the person finds a camera and a diary
Shunya: sir, ye video camera aur ye diary milli hai... iss diary mein viraaj ji ne kuchh contact numbers aur addresses likhe hain...
acp: ye video camera aur yeh diary bureau le jaate hain aur in numbers aur addresses ko check karte hain... sachin, tum, nikhil aur vansh viraaj ke sanstha walon se puchtachh karo! pankaj, viraaj ke phone ki details nikalwao! aur iss laash ko salunkhe ke paas bhejo!
(meanwhile, abhijeet, purvi and freddy are interrogating the person who called)
Person: sir, main iss factory ka security guard hoon sir... yeh factory to 6 mahine se band padi hai per phir bhi ek guard ko yahaan rakha jaata hai...main paanch minute ke liye wo paas wali dukan pe chai peene gaya...vapis aaya to yeh lash dekhi!
Abhi: kissi ko bhagte hue dekha...ya kuchh ajeeb sa?
Person: nahi sir!
Freddy: chalo theek hai, ab jao...agar zarurat padegi to dobaara bula lenge tumhe...
(Person leaves...just then abhi's phone rings, he picks it up and a smile comes to his tensed face)
Abhi: kya kaha, daya ko hosh aa gaya! haan, hum abhi aate hain! (and the three of them leave)
Scene: Hospital:
Abhi: kya yaar daya, tune to dara hi diya! ab kaisa hai tu, hain?
Daya: theek hun main abhi...par abhi, mujhe hua kya tha?
Abhi: (remembers the doctor's and shunya's warning) kuchh nahi yaar, bas thodi si kamzori thi...dhyaan rakha kar na tu apna...
Daya: (suddenly) Abhi, main nahi jaanta uss ladki ko...main jhooth nahi bol raha abhi...
Abhi: uss baat ko chod daya... maine maan li teri baat dost..
Freddy: haan sir, aap koi tension mat lijiye, bas apna khayaal rakhiye...
Purvi: haan sir, aap aaraam kijiye...
Daya: (annoyed) do ghanton se to hospital mein hi padahoon, aur kitna aaraam karoon! bas Abhi, ab mujhe discharge chahiye!
Doctor: (enters the room smiling) haan- haan senior inspector daya, mil jayega aapko discharge! aap inhe le jaa sakte hain! bas inhe thoda aaram karna hoga!
(they complete the discharge foralities and move towards duo's house to drop daya despite daya's protests...on the way abhi's phone rings)
Abhi: yes sir...kya sir...par sir daya...ji sir...abhi aate hain sir...(and cuts the phone)
ACP sir ka phone tha...keh rahe the ki viraaj ke sanstha waalon ne bataya ki viraaj orphanages ki aad mein chal rahi exploitation pe article likhne ke liye kuchh research kar rahe the...unhe kuchh lead bhi milli thi par isse pehle ki wo kissi ko kuchh bataate... unke computer ko bhi aise destroy kiya gaya hai ki data non recoverable hai!... call details se bhi kuchh khaas pata nahi chala hai...addresses bhi sanstha ke donors ke the...
ab humare paas ek hi saboot bacha hai... vo video recording... issliye sir chahte hain ki sab officers usse saath mein dekhein, taaki koi chote se chota saboot bhi chhoot na jaaye...humein turant bureau pahunchna hai...
Scene: CID Bureau-
acp sir: abhijeet, freddy, purvi aur daya ke aane se pehle ek baar hum iss recording ko dekh hi lete hain...kya pata, isme kuch important ho bhi yaa nahi... lagao recording sachin!
(the recording is played and all are shocked to see it...it is the video of a 5-6 year old boy... he has been tied up in a dark room and is being whipped by a man, about 35 or so! he has bruises all over his body and is bleeding also at several places...their are also some marks of burns on his body...the boy lacks energy and cannot even scream in pain...he is just crying... seeing it all have tears in their eyes...)
sachin:(angry) yeh jo koyi bhi aadmi hai...ek baar mere haath lag jaye...isse main nahi chhodoonga!
ACP: haan sachin...lagta hai yehi vo lead hogi jo Viraaj ko milli thi...par hai kaun ye zalim ...
Nikhil: ek baar daya sir ka haath padega na, to sabak milega ise!
Shunya: NAHI!
(All are shocked by this sudden outburst and are staring)
Shunya: (to acp sir) please sir, main aapse request kar rahi hoon sir, please daya sir ko is case se door rakhiyee...aur ye video mat dekhne dijiye use sir, please sir...vo seh nahi paayega sir.. vo
AAH!
The loud sound of anguish from the heart of CID pierced everybody's heart...they turned around to find their beloved senior inspector Daya holding his head in pain and crying out loud...everybody was shocked to their core to see him in such pain...they could not understand the cause of this pain...all were frozen at their places... abhijeet, who was standing next to daya, was trying to control him but in vain... he was in hysterics...suddenly...
shunya: DAYU!
chapter 4: ateet ka panna...
shunya: DAYU!
(all are shocked at her outburst... and even more so as she rushed towards him...)
shunya: dayu! shaant ho ja dayu! ab tum safe ho...
daya: (jerking abhi and shunya away) door raho mujhse...tum mujhe marne aaye ho na...door raho mujhse tum sab, varna...
(abhijeet is stunned by this behaviour of his buddy... he ssems to be frozen... meanwhile...)
shunya: (taking a step forward) dayu...shaant ho ja...hum tumhare dushman nahi hain...
daya: door raho mujhse...varna (sudddenly he takes out his gun!) varna main goli chala doonga!
freddy: (in tears) daya sir! kya kar rahe hain aap!
acp: daya! gun neeche karo!
shunya: (taking another step forward) shaant dayu...tumhe yahan koi nuksaan nahi pahuncha payega dayu...shant...
daya: (pointing the gun towards her) maine kaha na...door raho mujhse! varna i'll fire!
shunya: (comes even closer to daya) shaant ho ja dayu...shaant...
(and suddenly a gunshot is heared! daya fired the gun and the bullet hits shunya's arm... despite the wound, pain and bloodloss... shunya rushes forward and hugs daya! daya immediately stops struggling and starts shedding tears of pain and anguish!)
shunya: bas dayu! shaant ho ja...ab tu us andhere mein nahi hain! ab tu safe hai...ab teri zindagi mein sirf ujala hai dayu! tu ab...tu ab apne parivaar ke paas hai dayu!
daya: (stops crying and speaks in a shocked tone) p...parivaar?
shunya: haan, parivaar dayu! tumhare pita...acp Pradyuman...tumhara bada bhai...tumhara abhi! tumhara doosra bhai, Freddy, tumhare sabhi chote bhai-behen... sachin, nikihl, purvi, ishita, divya, mayur, vansh, jaywanti...itna pyaara sa parivaar hai tumhara dayu!
ab tum akele nahi ho dayu! ye sabhi log hain tumhare paas...aur ye tuhe kuch nahi hone denge...kabhi bhi nahi lautne denge tumhe us andhere mein...kabhi tumhari zindagi pe us dard ka saaya nahi padne denge...inka pyaar tumhe hamesha safe rakhega dayu!
daya: aur tum? (shunya shocked) tum mere paas nahi rahogi shuna!
shunya: (with moist eyes) main...shuna kya kabhi apne dayu se door ja sakti hai? main to humesha tumhare saath hi hoon dayu!
(daya smiles and then faints...the officers make him lie down in the restroom...meanwhile acp sir calls dr. salunkhe and dr. tarika ...)
Scene: restroom...
(there is a stunned silence...after some time...dr. salunkhe and dr. tarika enter... dr. tarika dresses shunya's wound in silence while dr. salunkhe checks daya...)
Abhi: (breaking the silence) bas! ab bohot ho gaya! inspector shunya, ab tumhe humein sab kuch batana hoga! (she is silent) batao!!
(suddenly, shunya burst into tears...she falls down on the floor on her knees in tears)
shunya: (in tears) kyun bhagwaan kyun! mere dayu ki zindagi mein hi itna dard kyun! KYUN! (to abhi) sir, maine aapse kaha tha...band kar dijiye ateet ka ye panna yaheen... (to acp) kaha tha maine ki mat dekhne dijiye daya ko vo video, par... shayad meri hi galti hai...mujhe shayad aap logon ko ussi samay sab bata dena chahiye tha jab... SAB BARBAAD HO GAYA! KYUN! AAKHIR KYUN! (and she continues to cry in anguish)
(after sometime, controlling her tears) sab janna hai na aapko senior inspector abhijeet... sab janna hai na aap sabko...sab bataati hoon main...
mamta foundation se pehle dayu XYZ orphanage mein tha... bohot hi hasta-khelta, pyaara sa baccha tha (she smiles a bit) khud bhi hassta rehta aur baaki sabko bhi hasaata...
main bhi ussi orphanage mein thi sir... lagbhag ek hi umar ke the hum dono... main thodi si chup-chup rehti thi, par phir bhi hum dono ki bohot gehri dosti ho gayi thi...
uss orphanage ka caretaker bohot hi bura insaan tha sir...orphanage ke bacchon ke sath bohot bura sulukh karta tha...din bhar kaam karwaata tha aur khana bhi bohot kam deta tha... aur dayu ki bhookh to aap jaante hai na sir...kai baar khana maangne par daant ya maar kha jaata tha... (all have tears in their eyes, abhi is stunned) par in sab ke beech bhi wo muskurata rehta tha...uss muskurahat se hi orphanage ke sabhi bacchon ko ek umeed milti thi...humein kya pata tha sir ki ye umeed humse yun chhin jayegi...
us samay dayu aur mein shayad pach- chhey saal ke the... ek raat orphanage mein ek naqabposh aadmi ghus aaya... wo mujhe behosh karke utha kar le jaane laga...tabhi dayu ne use dekh liya aur uske peechhe aaya...wo insaan mujhe orphanage ke basement mein le gaya...uss jagah koi bhi aata nahin tha...bohot andhera tha...subah jab meri aankh khuli to maine khud ko wahan paaya...vo humein band karke chala gaya tha...dayu bhi wahin tha...uske chehre par kai zakham the...lagta hai jab use pata chala ki vo vahan hai to usne dayu ko bohot mara aur use bhi wahan baandh gaya...wahaan orphanage ki kuch aur ladkiyaan bhi bandhi theen sir...hum shocked reh gaye kyunki humein bataya gaya tha ki unhe adopt kiya jaa chuka hai...sabhi bacche bohot darre hue the sir...par unke shareer par ek bhi zakham nahi tha!
panch din rahe hum wahan...panch din guzaare us narak mein...un panch dinon mein humein na khaana diya gaya na paani...roz wo aadmi aata tha...hum ladkeeyon ko gandi nazar se dekhta tha aur dayu ko maarta tha...(in tears) kabhi hunter se, kabhi haathon se, kabhi dande se...ek baar to cigarette se jalaya bhi gaya tha sir...(all stunned and have tears in their eyes...) wo rota raha sir, chillata raha, "mat maaro mujhe, mat maaro!" par kissi ne nahi suni...mein bhi bohot roi sir, bohot gidgidayi, par mere haath-pair bandhe the sir...main kuchh na kar saki...
teen din baad uski saari shakti chali gayi sir...usne cheekhna bhi band kar diya...uski haalat bilkul us video wale bacche ki tarha ho gayi thi sir...shayad usse bhi buri... par mera chillana band nahi hua...mein madad ke liye pukaarti rahi...ke shayad koi aa jayega... uss aadmi ko to humari cheekhon mein bhi shayad ek khushi milti thi sir... par ek din use na jaane kya hua...ussne mere haath- pair khol diye...mujhe laga ki shayad wo ab humein chhod de...shayad use humpe daya aa gayi ho sir... par wo mujhe ek dusre kamre mein le gaya...wahan uske aur saathi bhi the...usne apna mask utaara to pata chala ki wo caretaker ka beta tha sir... un logon ne mujhe gher liya...wo mere paas aaye aur unhone...unhone... (and she covered her face with her palms and burst into tears! )
uske baad main behosh ho gayi thi sir...hosh aaya to main hospital mein thi...pata chala ki us hadse ke ek bin baad hi orphanage ke trustees aaye the...unhone orphanage ke adoption records check kiye to unhe kuch gadbad milli...jab caretaker ne unhe kuchh nahi bataya to unhone police ko inform kiya...police ne caretaker se sab ugalwa diya...wo orphanage ki ladkiyon ko prostitution ke daldal mein dhakelna chahta tha...phir hum bach gaye... baaki sabhi bacche theek the par kamzor the...par meri aur daya ki haalat bohot critical thi...
dayu ko mere ek din baad hosh aaya...par jab main usse milne gayi to usne mujhe nahi pehchana! dar ke maare haath- pair maarne laga... bhaagne ki koshish ki usne...kisi tarha doctor ne use sedative dekar sulaya...phir unhone ek psychiatrist ko bulaya...to pata chala ki daya ke dimaag ne wo memories daba di hain...phir decide kiya gaya ki daya ko uske ateet se judi har cheez aur har insaan se door rakha jayega, including me...
phir daya ne mamta foundation mein ek nayi zindagi shuru ki...wahan ke sir aur bacchon ko samjha diya gaya tha ki daya se uske past ke baare mein kuchh na puchha jaye...dheere- dheere raghuvendra sir ke pyar se vo sambhal gaya aur aage bad gaya apne jeevan mein... par main...mujhe ek doosre orphanage mein bhej diya gaya, dayu se door...par uski yaadon se main kabhi door nahi ho payi...jab mauka milta tha to mein mamta foundation jaati thi dayu ko dekhne...par door se hi... phir hum dono alag- alag academies gaye...cid ki alag alag branches mein post hue...dayu ki khabar to ab akhbaron aur HQ office se hi milti thi...phir bhi saal mein ek baar main mumbai aati thi...door se hi use dekhne...
jab mera transfer yahan kiya gaya, to maine bohot koshish ki sir ko manane ki ki wo ye transfer rok lein...par kuchh nahi hua...delhi se mumbai bureau tak poore raaste maine yahi dua mangi ki kaash dayu mujhe na pehechane...use kuchh yaad na aaye...par jiska mujhe dar tha wahi hua...dayu aaj bhi mujhe jaan gaya aur... (bursts into tears)
(all are absolutely stunned at this tale...nobody can understand what to do or how to console her or even themselves...abhijeet and acp sir are internally blaming themselves for the present condition of their beloved daya...suddenly...)
poorvi: sir! sir! dekhiye, daya sir ko hosh aa raha hai!
(all are happy as well as tensed about his reaction on gaining consciousness... but shunya immediately runs out of the room! on acp sir's signal, poorvi runs after her...)
