Pl hear them properly, the judges are all musicians and not a lyricist and support them fully.Just bec they are good singers and so is EMON.

Most of the board supports you...now can we just move on. I'm tired of all these respetitive posts. We get the point.
Anyway, I really don't think we should bash Javed Akhtar for being a lyricist. He didn't force himself onto the show. Sony thought that Indian Idol needed a lyricist (which I semi-agree with because pronounciation is VERY important if someone wants to be a successful singer), so they selected Javed Sahib.
Now whatever he said, he can't go back in time and change it. Maybe he will apologize in the next show...maybe not. But overall, why is everyone judging him so harshly just because of once incident which might even be scripted? Maybe he was having a bad day...Javed Sahib has always been a very fair judge and I still admire him. If he made a mistake, he's only human.
I so agree with you. I am so dissappointed to read some of the comments against such a reputed and talented lyricist here just coz he made some negative comments about a contestant on the show. I have great respect for his beautiful work and though I agree that his comments were harsh...I also believe that a man of his stature had his reasons for making those comments that day. How much ever I like a contestant on a show - I can never say drag Javedji through the mud. What would Bollywood be without some of his beautiful songs like Silsila , Kabhi Kabhi etc? Unke hazzar gunah maaf!

I don't think anybody has a problem with the work he's done. He still remains one of the greatest lyricist and best scripwriters giving us scripts such as Sholay. And I'm sure he will continue giving us good lyrics.
But it is wrong for any human being no matter what position they are at to predict someone's future. What angers me is how can someone so learned and wise, contradict his statements and tell an 18 year old you will not be successful.
Just because he is a well known lyricist, does not mean, he gets the right to abuse an 18 year old. Yes as a judge he can judge his singing, but not his future.
And if the incident is scripted, then people will think even more lowly of him- a great lyricist who I'm sure earns enough abuses an 18 year old on tv for money. I personally don't think Javed Ji would do such a thing for money. He meant what he said. Even if he was having a bad day, being a celebrity he should know that it is wrong to vent his anger on an 18 year old reality show contestant.

Well, all I have to say is that you're beating a dead horse now. There's nothing new that's being said about this. Everyone is just rehashing the same anger. I would think that by now, people would get over it. Why don't we just wait and see what will happen in the next episode?

Please don't post in caps. Anyway, your purpose is still the same in the end, isn't it? You're saying that people with thin voices can sing well and those who understand music would realize that. But Javed Sahib does not understand music, and thats why he was against Emon. I've read that so many times by now, so I really don't think it's anything new.
