Just because he is a well known lyricist, does not mean, he gets the right to abuse an 18 year old. Yes as a judge he can judge his singing, but not his future.

And if the incident is scripted, then people will think even more lowly of him- a great lyricist who I'm sure earns enough abuses an 18 year old on tv for money. I personally don't think Javed Ji would do such a thing for money. He meant what he said. Even if he was having a bad day, being a celebrity he should know that it is wrong to vent his anger on an 18 year old reality show contestant.

I understand what you are saying. And I have no probs with people criticizing his comments over contestants...but to make derogaratory statements about him based on his profession and qualifications on being the judge on the show is insulting the man.

To answer your question. Yes it is wrong for one to de moralize a contestant but it is not wrong for him to express his opinion and criticize him. I personally did not like his statement either about Emon not becoming a playback singer. But just as you said its wrong to insult a contestant - I feel it is wrong on my part to undermine his ruling of Emon having a thin voice. He feels that way and has his reasons - so be it. I can agree or disagree but who am I to question his qualifications as a judge?
