neither ranveer nor sid are complete outsiders... both assisted bollywood directors so they knew people inside... and just not to piss sid fans, sid is more outsider than ranveer😆

the complete outsider has no chance to enter bollywood these days because there are people like KJo, who will choose alia and varun even tho he found better candidates...

He has always said he is from Def Col 😆 Obviously his family is well off. I guess compared to Bollywood peeps they are "middle class"

Also I don't think KJo would associate with someone who wasn't from an upper class neighbourhood, the elitist that he is.

@KST: I kinda disagree with you where you say Sid/RS were not outsiders because they were ADs first, being an AD was how their career started, the connections they make through work are just that, that doesn't make them "insiders".

Though I think the insider-outsider argument has been done to death,

for me, a person is an insider if
his parents are producers, directors or actors in the industry themselves...you can categorize virtually everyone quite clearly with this criteria... if not, it's very difficult to say who is outsider after 2000s...everyone knows industry one way or the other through indirect links or have worked in TVs etc

He is not an insider he is an outsider his family is not a film family however its not he is a struggler like Rajkumar rao. Sid comes from a rich background. he enjoys the luxury of having a powerful godfather in the film industry not many outsiders enjoys.

people that came from middle class backgrounds are the likes of Nawazuddin, Irrfan, Akshay etc..

why do they even mention ohhh we're outsiders or from a middle class family.. like how does it matter? You freakin have Karan Johar backing you up and probably a lot more friends in the fashion/movie industry..

we all have lived with no electricity at some point on our lives.. and most of us have shared accommodation too so? what's the big deal? nothing comes easy and still a this has come easy for these people.. There's tons of people aspiring to be actors who actually know what struggle means because no body ever takes them in their movies cuz ohhh soo outsiders like Sidharth and Ranveer are occupying their spots..🤢

He wasn't born into the industry so clearly not an insider...but now he's backed so strongly by KJo so he's pretty much just as safe as the star kids...at least for now...it's guys like rajkumar rao who are rank outsiders with no strong backing per se

thats true, sid may not be a complete insider, but kjo is helping him so much that he is getting the opportunities that many of the star kids r getting.

Also there is nothing wrong with having connections in the industry.

And yes both ranveer and sid did hav a period of time where they both struggled to make it in the industry, ranveer had 3 years of struggle
