I started watching Dharankshetra some few time ago . And found it to be very interting and answering many questions which people had in their mind . Recently i was reading a novel 'Palace of Illusions " by some chitra ,,,Very interesting book which is written from Draupadi point of view .While watching this show found many similarities . I never knew that Draupadi was in love with Karan . When Kunti goes to Karan asking him to come and join his brothers and also tells him that whatever is theirs ,will also be yours even the Draupadi as Kunti came to know about Draupadi,s feelings and Karan was also supposed to be in love with Draupadi . But Karan refused Kunti and told he will stay with his friend Duryodhan . This show is coming out with strong contents .

POI is fan fiction. And fan fiction with imagined encounters. Some FFs actually follow real events; POI does not.

In the actual epic, Panchali and Karna had two encounters. One at the SV, where depending on which version you believe, Karna either was forced out, lost or did not attempt. The official version, CE does not even have the famous Sutaputra comment.

The 2nd encounter was the dice hall.

Both encounters were exceedingly unpleasant and nothing in the epic suggests that Panchali was a masochist to fall in love after that.

Karna and Panchali had nothing to do with each other on a personal level in the actual story

That being said, POI is a wonderful novel for its lovely and lyrical use of English language

Infact this novel i mentioned was i think visualize in some show in Sahara channel some years back and do not know why it was stopped . That show was from Draupadi point of view . And very well directed . That book was recommended to me and then i read .
Sahara ,s Draupadi was also based on some novel . Infact Mahabharat and Ramayana has been wrttten from so many different perspectives specially Mahabharat which is complex . I am enjoying Dharamkheshtra as was fed up with Hindi nonsense serials . Accidently saw this channel and liked its shows . But there are many incidents which i have found in the book . Draupadi was shown to be fiery woman .

Sahara's 'Draupadi' was based on Pratibha Ray's, 'Yagnaseni, not on Chitra Banerjee's Palace of Illusions.

There is a thread on 'Dharmakshetra' on Epic forum, if you are interested.

I too read Palace of Illusions...its a great book

the writing style is so intriguing that feels like real...

in epic there is no connection between Karna and Draupadi

they are two important male and female characters who suffered the most through the entire epic

Both were strong characters...

in a way they are kind of perfect for each other..

be it a perfect world they might have been together

But it was not a perfect world...instead a corrupted one...

I find it great watching Dharmakhestra too...

ignoring all religious barriers it is showing something which touches our heart...

In a perfect world, Panchali would have never heard of Karna or of the Kuru family (including the Pandavas), except as some not-so-distant royal house with a history of insanity from all the consanguinity

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has written any fanfiction on Dharmakshetra? Would love to see the Bhishma and Amba wedding. So shocking about the ArDi divorce. I really like the plot of this wonderful and unique show. Wish they could do another season with some of the other characters. Was wondering why they never showed Pandu Raj in the hot seat. I mean he hunted and accidentally shot and killed whom he thought were two deers being intimate but sadly the two deers were actually a rishi and his wife. Why is there no Drupada or Balarama episode?
