Chapter 8 - First Date
Recap - Jalal confessed to Jodha and she accepted it. Meanwhile Mainawati had fixed Jodha's marriage alliance with Suryabhan without Jodha's consent. The elders had decided to have Jodha and Suryabhan meet a month later to get to know each other. Meanwhile Moti suspects that there is something going on between Jalal and Jodha after hearing Jalal say that he will drop Jodha home .
"Jodha, may I kiss you?" He asked.
"W... What?! J... Jalal I..." She stammered.
"May I?" He asked again.
"I..." She nodded her head saying yes.
He unlocked his seat belt, leaned towards her, brought his right palm on her left cheek caressing it. She closed her eyes as she felt his touch on her cheek. He brought his lips closer and kissed her on the forehead and said
"Goodnight Jodha." He straightened up and looked at her, she opened her eyes and found him smiling down at her.
"Goodnight Jalal." She replied with her eyes cast down and opened the car door. Just before she stepped out of the car, she leaned towards him, kissed him on his left cheek and practically sprinted out of the car leaving him bewildered as he never expected her to kiss him back.

After switching on the lights, she locked the front door of her house, she walked towards the balcony and found him standing by his car. She called him up.
"Hello." He answered the phone.
"Hello Jalal, you haven't left yet?" She asked.
"I wanted to make sure you got home safely."
"Jalal, you could have just give me a call."
"I wanted to see you." He said looking up at the balcony where she was standing.
"Are you happy now that you have seen me?" She asked.
"Yes, and by the way, the goodnight kiss you gave me earlier made me happy too." He chuckled as he imagined how she must be blushing at the other side of the phone.
"You should go home now Jalal." She said still blushing.
"Okay. Goodbye Jodha."
"Goodbye Jalal."
He hung up the phone, waved goodbye at her and got in his car and drove off as she bid him farewell.
She freshened up and gave her mother a call.
"Hello maa?"
"Oh Jodha beta, are you back from work?"
"Yes, maa. How was the engagement?"
"It went well beta. How was your day?"
Today is the best day of my life!!! Her mind screamed "It was good maa."
"We will be back tomorrow beta."
"Oh, okay maa. Will bhaiya or papa be fetching me from work?"
"I am not sure what time we will be back tomorrow beta. I will call and let you know the time."
"Okay maa."
"Bye beta, take care of yourself."
"I will, bye maa."
After the call ended Jodha saw that Jalal had sent her a message.
Just arrived home.
Thought I should let you know in case you were worried.
Goodnight, sweet dreams. It wrote.
She replied Goodnight and sweet dreams to you too.
Jalal's house
Jalal had just stepped out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist when he heard the message tone beeped from his phone. He read the message and a grin unknowingly spread across his face. It has been so long since he felt this way, content? He didn't know but whatever it is, it felt nice.
The past few days that he had arrived in India he found himself grinning, smiling even laughing more than he usually did. He was changing, she was changing him. She was slowly bringing out the him that he had hidden away all these years. He should be afraid but he wasn't for he knew that she would stand by him no matter what.
When she told him today that she would like to be in a relationship with him, he felt out of this world. For the first time in his life, he was excited to be in a relationship and to think that he felt butterflies in his stomach and tingles all the way to his toes when she kissed him on the cheek came as a surprise to him. He was so shocked that he felt that way because of a mere kiss on the cheek that he didn't realized until she was at the lobby of her apartment complex that she had got out of his car.
With a silly grin on his face he got out of the car and waited for Jodha to appear on her balcony. He saw the light being switched on and waited for her and there she appeared. She must have not expected him to still be there as she gave him a call asking him the reason he was still there, he couldn't help saying that he wanted to be sure that she was safely home.
Which didn't really make sense as he was the one who dropped her home but he also knew that he would only be relieved until he saw with his own eyes that she is safely inside the confines of her house. She had told him earlier in the car that her family members are away to attend her cousin's engagement and that she was alone. He wanted to tell her that he will walk her to her front door but he didn't as he felt that she might not be comfortable.
He got dressed and went to bed and had another one of his dreams of his Jodha whereas Jodha fell asleep with her cheeks a rosy pink and her fingers touching her forehead hoping that tomorrow will come fast.

Next day, JM Corp.
Jodha had just arrived at work and sat on her front desk when Moti came over.
"Good morning Jodha."
"Good morning Moti."
"So?" Moti probed.
"What is it Moti?" Jodha asked confused.
"Oh don't play dumb. What is going on between you and Mr. CEO huh?"
"What do you mean going on Moti?"
"Well then would you explain why he went all the way to drop you home last night?"
"Because he asked me to draw up an agreement letter at the last minute and offered a ride."
"I could have waited for you Jodha, he didn't have to offer a ride."
"Yes you could Moti but I didn't want to trouble you. On top of it all, it was late and I was not sure how long it would take me to draw up that letter. So I thought since sir was offering a ride I should accept it and not trouble you."Sorry for lying to you Moti but I don't have another choice.
"You would not trouble me but you would trouble him huh?"
"Moti, why are you really upset?"
"Of course it's because you get to have a ride in his shiny, slick silver Porsche."
[Author's note : I personally like these two Porsche Carrera GT and Porsche 918 Spyder but you can imagine any other car you like...]
"Porsche?! But he was driving a black Benz yesterday."
"Benz?! But I saw him driving a Porsche today."
"You saw Mr. Muhammad?!"
"Yeah he was on his way somewhere, why?"
"Oh, it's just he didn't inform me that he was going somewhere."
"Something might have came up. So, you didn't get to ride in his Porsche?"
"No, I didn't."
"Damn, I wish I was as lucky as you to ride with a good looking man."
"You might."
"You think so? Where is my Prince Charming anyways?! I've been waiting for him for 26 years already! Shouldn't he appear soon?"
"Maybe he found out what type of person his better half is and ran away."
"Jodha!!!"
"Moti!!! Don't worry you will find him." Just like how I found mine. "You better get back to work before Nisha comes searching for you."
"Oh, speaking of Nisha, did you know that..."
"Moti what are you doing here?" Nisha asked.
"Nisha, I was just about to go back to my desk." Moti replied and hurried back to her desk. Nisha glared at Jodha when Jalal appeared and immediately she changed her expressions.
"J... Miss Sharma, coffee please."
"Yes sir."
"Miss Nisha, what are you doing her?" He asked.
"I was just passing by sir."
He went in his office and Nisha left. A while later Jodha came in with his coffee, he said
"Jodha, keep my schedules empty after 4pm. We are going out."
"I am sorry but I can't Jalal, maa said that they will be back today."
"Oh, will they be picking you up after work?" He asked a tad disappointed that his plans were ruined.
"I don't know, maa said she will call and let me know later."
"I guess the date is cancelled then."
"Date?! What date?"
"I thought that we could go on a date today but since your family are coming back, I will just cancel my plans."
"Jalal I..." Before she could finish her sentence her phone rang, the word Maa flashed on her phone. She picked it up and answered "Hello maa?"
"Jodha beta, we won't be coming back today."
"Why maa did something happen?!" She asked concerned that something had happen to her family and he was there by her side in case she needed him, she held his hands for comfort.
"No, no beta, nothing is wrong here. Your papa just decided to stay over a couple more days that's all." Her mother said.
"Thank God you are alright. So, you won't be coming home today?" She confirmed as she looked at him.
"Yes beta. You take care and let me know when you arrive home okay."
"Okay maa, bye."
"Bye beta." She hung up the phone turned towards him and said. "Maa said they are not coming home today."
"Really?! Then we can go on our date?" He asked excitedly. He had been planning since this morning to take her on a date that she won't forget. He shouldn't be happy that her family are not coming back but he really wanted to go on a date with her and now that the plan is on he was determine to woo her.
"Yes, we can." She replied shyly.

It was 4pm and just like he had asked Jodha had left his schedule empty. All that is left is for the two of them to go on their date but how? What reason is she going to give for going home early? She was contemplating on what reason she should give Mr. Atgah when Jalal appeared.
"Miss Sharma, can you come with me."
"Where to sir?" She asked confused but he never replied. He walked to Mr. Atgah's room with her following behind his back. Nisha was in there too.
"Mr. Atgah, I have a meeting with a Mr. Khurana and I will need someone to accompany me." He said.
"Sure sir. Who would you like to take with you sir?"
"I can accompany you sir." Nisha said. How can she let a chance like this slip away? A chance to go on a date with Jalal... She was floating on the air fantasizing about him falling for her and becoming Mrs. Jalalludin Muhammad when he replied.
"Thank you for the offer but I would like to take Miss Sharma along with me."
"Sure sir. Miss Sharma, you will be accompanying Mr. Muhammad then."
"We will take our leave then Mr. Atgah."
Jodha and Jalal left from there, Mr. Atgah got back to his work whereas Nisha fumed thinking that Jodha always comes in between me and Mr. Muhammad.

"Where are you taking me Jalal?"
"It is a surprise."
He stopped the Porsche by a park, unlocked his seat belt, got out of the car, jogged to her side and opened the door for her saying "We are here."
"The park?" She asked as she got out of the car.
"Yes" He said as he closed her door and went to the car boot and took a blanket, an ice box and a large picnic basket out.
[Author's note : Please if you guys do plan for a picnic, do not I repeat DO NOT put your ice box inside your boot as it is the hottest place in your car. You are supposed to put it on the backseat. Since Jalal is driving a two seated sports car there is no other option but for me to write that he took the ice box from the boot. Please do not put it inside your boot as the ice cubes inside might melt before you even have your date. I am not sure about the picnic basket though.]
"Are we here for a picnic?" Her eyes shone with excitement.
"Yes we are." He answered as he locked the car.
She took the blanket from him while he carried the ice box and picnic basket. They found a spot they liked, laid down the blanket and sat down. Jodha opened the picnic basket and found varies varieties of finger foods such as sandwiches, cut fruits, salads, some pastries , breads, chips and crackers. The ice box consists of bottled water, fruit juices and some carbonated drinks.
"You prepared all these?" She asked, her eyes as wide as she couldn't picture him preparing all these things.
"Yes, I did. You like it?"
"I love it Jalal. Thank you."
"Then shall we start eating?" He asked.
"Yes."
Jalal passed Jodha a set of fork and knife and a plate to Jodha and asked "What drinks will you take? Coke, fruit juice, coffee or tea?"
"I will have one orange juice please."
"Here you go." He passed the bottle.
"Thank you. How about you? What will you have? The usual?"
"The usual?" He asked confused.
"Coffee. Would you like some?"
"No, I will take a Coke."
They ate and talked a little about their interest.

They sat there with their legs stretched out listening to the songs playing from a small stereo he had brought along. The atmosphere was so soothing that it made Jalal drowsy.
"Jalal, do you want to lie down?"
"I think I should." He was searching for something that could act as a pillow for him to lie down when she said.
"You can lie here." She patted her lap.
He was surprised but nevertheless asked "Are you sure Jodha?"
She just smiled and waited for him to lie down. He laid down, his head on her lap. He couldn't believe she had allowed him to sleep on her lap, he was overwhelmed as he knew this was a very hard step for her but little did he know that this gesture of his, this whole planning of the picnic and him asking her if she was really okay with him lying on her lap made her fall in love with him all over again.
A song played out which captured what she wanted to say to him. It was as thought the song was written just for her.[Author's note : The song's name is Please Be Careful With My Heart by Jodi Sta Maria and Richard Yap.]

She wanted to tell him, scream out to every person present here in the park, the whole world that she is in love with him but she hesitated when she thought about her parents, would they accept him? What would say when they found of she has fallen in love with this man here. She looked down at him, he had his eyes closed. He probably drifted off to sleep.

She caressed his scar on his left brow followed by his hair, giving off a soothing, comforting yet tingling sensation as though telling him that this song is saying exactly what she wanted to say but is not able too. As if on cue he held her hands, brought it to his chest and held on to it with his eyes looking deep into hers as though he meant every word that is sung by the male in the song.

He sat up, still holding on to her hand, he brought his other free hand and caressed her cheek, staring deep into her hazel orbs as if enchanted by her. Her heart pounded so fast that she was afraid it would stop beating.

A fiery red orb light slowly descends beneath the horizons, birds chirping as they flew away, as the thread of light lingered in the sky, painting with first orange, then pink, then purple, until all that was left was a chalky mauve that later melted away into the darkness of the night.

Just as slowly he closed the distance between the two of them. The song coming to an end as their lips closed on to each other as it finally entwined with the other. The warmth of his mouth sent shiver across her body whereas the taste of her raspberry or was it strawberry lip gloss created havoc as he let out a groan and she a moan.
My heart (your heart)
He finally pulled away after what felt like eternity. Her lips were swollen, her breathing was heavy, face flushed as he looked at her. Her eyes flutter even when closed. He was in no different state, his breathing was heavy too, his heart beating so hard it was as though he had just run a marathon.
He caressed her swollen lower lips and her eyes flew opened and a crimson red blush crept on to her cheeks. She hugged him, burying her face in his chest as she was shy to face him and he hugged her back saying "That, was one heck of a kiss."
And he was right, that kiss was one heck of a kiss as it wasn't just any kiss. That kiss they just shared was their first kiss. It felt amazing and if he was to use a word to describe it, then it would home'. Yes home described it best as he felt at home with her there by his side.
