Alisha quits! article

Indian idol judge, Alisha Chinai, has quit the show. The pop singer seems to be very upset with the idea of public voting.

Reportedly she quit because of Meiyang Chang, one of the contestants of Indian Idol 3 who has been evicted from the show. Alisha is very upset with the development. She feels that the public has been very unfair and the voting system is mindless. The singer was left fuming on the sets, she also asked the producers to make the voting system more logical. Needless to say, the production house refused to budge. So now, the singer has made up her mind to leave the show.

When contacted, Alisha said, "I am very upset with the public voting system which is mindless. They just don't care for real talent. Being a judge, we are supposed to guide the audience to make the right choice, so that they have an idea of the contestants' talent. But, after all these days, I have realised that they just don't care. I'm ashamed to be a judge on such a show. Hence, I don't think I can continue any more."

Is the eviction of Chang the real reason? She replied, "Chang is one of the finest performers I have seen in recent times. Chang's ouster from the show is because of this erratic voting system that has annoyed me most and he definitely was close to my heart. Certainly, this decision is not instantaneous. I have raised objections several times to the voting system, but in vain. Now, I have realised that this is not my cup of tea. So, it's better to stay away."
