Episode XI : 21 April 2015.
The episode begins with Ananya handing over Nidhi Rane's statement recording to Kabir Sharma. He lauds her, sarcastically, calls her a rebel, one who doesn't give a hoot to orders from seniors and cares a damn about warnings. Ananya surprised at the outburst from Kabir retorts back confidently that the only problem with her was she takes whatever she was taught in her journalism classes a little too seriously. She said she would never underestimate or ignore her conscience. She goes on to say she felt that the story that Kabir had covered around Nidhi Rane did not cover all the aspects. Multiple parties were involved and all their POVs were not considered or taken into account. She requests Kabir Sharma to air Nidhi Rane's statement and that would not have any bearing on his campaign.
"I don't need any Kashyap to tell me what to do, I have my own plans. You already have 2 warnings do not vie for the third"
quips Kabir Sharma in full control of the situation.
Kabir seizes the card from her phone and further advises her to be in her limits which will only help her.
Kabir then walks out of the room,only to turn back and smile when asked whether he will run the footage or not.
Ananya is very upset, she feels all her effort in getting the footage was going down the drain. Her colleague, Richa (I think that's the name) consoles her, tells her to be professional. Kabir Sharma was here for a purpose she tells Ananya. In the meantime Nidhi's mother calls Ananya and informs that the issue is getting to court at 4 pm. Ananya promises to do something and help.
Ananya is completely confused, she feels the footage should be aired at the earliest.
She tries to talk to Kabir who ignores her.
Everyone gathers for the editorial meeting and Kabir allocates work to the team. Ananya informs that the court is filing a case against Nidhi and the others. She tells Kabir to air the footage at the earliest so that there is a possibility of bail for Nidhi.
Manav is unhappy and questions Kabir, Kabir snubs him big time and he walks out of the meeting.
Kabir and Ananya get into a verbal duel where Kabir justifies his stand and Ananya still insists that he should air the footage.
Kabir emphatically declares that he will not air the footage any time then.
Ananya upset at the way things were handled goes on to say that such a stand was against ethics of journalism.
Malavika walks in and asks whether she missed anything to which Kabir retorts "Revolt of 1857".
Wonder how many in the room got his humor.đ
Shocked and perplexed Ananya goes on to accuse Kabir of dishonesty.
[Trying to get the exact dialogs here ...]
"You have changed Kabir Sir. Often in the past, in pursuit of truth, your voice reckoned me...your grit ...your panache, inspired me ...but you have changed..."
Much to the chagrin of all gathered in the room...Ananya goes on to add... "Today you are more worried about your position, the channel's ratings...Pat on the backs mean more to you than the suppressed tears of an innocent...When Baskar Sir was around...I felt he was weak...and gave up very easily...but you...YOU HAVE SOLD OUT YOUR INTEGRITY"
Calm and collected Kabir asks Ananya to get out.
Ananya walks out of the room and Kabir winds up the meeting.
Manav is in his room upset at the proceedings when Malavika drops by. He is seen talking to someone, possibly an agent who provides information. His hurt is obvious in his tone and informs Malavika that the channel would soon convert from a news channel to an entertainment one.
Malavika was quick to tell him to find a job elsewhere and walks off.
Ananya overhears some discussion in the cafeteria and decided to talk to Khalid on the footage,only to be brushed off.
Ananya types out her resignation, determined to leave the channel. Ronnie and Richa are coaxing her to stay. She says "just like when an idol in a temple breaks either the idol is changed or the temple", she said she was fine in changing the temple.
She leaves the resignation on Kabir Sharma's table and starts packing her things.
The channel starts airing breaking news with Kabir Sharma at the helm.
Everyone is gathered to view the news while Ananya continues to pack.
Much to everyone's surprise Nidhi's statement is aired on TV, the same footage that Ananya had covered. Nidhi goes on to say in her statement that she was invited for a discussion for an upcoming movie by a business man. Little did she know what awaited her. It was a trap, somehow she tried to escape but the police raided the place after a tip off.
The news that evening covered more important facts of the incident. Everyone is impressed and appreciating Kabir Sharma. Ananya claims he was innocent. In walks Khalid and appreciates the way the footage was used, the timing and the impact. Kabir is a genius he adds.
Richa asks Ananya whether she still wanted to quit, to which she says NO.
Kabir concludes the program aired on an important parting note that time is of essence and that every nice piece of information needs the right person in the right place at the right time.
Precap " Richa forces Ananya to withdraw her resignation. In the meantime the peon brings back the resignation letter alll endorsed by Kabir Sharma. Sad she asks Kabir if he had accepted her resignation"
