I kinda knew Steroline was gonna happen for 2 reasons:When Damon/Caroline were dating and he used Caroline to distract Stefan while he talked to Elena. And the other reason is that Stefan was the one who taught her the ropes of being a vampire, and supported her.

So it makes sense that he is her emotional trigger!,
