




Shah Rukh Khan Wins Outstanding Contribution to Cinema at The Asian Awards
We recently told you that Shah Rukh Khan would be flying into London especially for The Asian Awards and now we have learned that actor was honored for his work in Indian Cinema at the special event.
Shah Rukh Khan was awarded the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Cinema award at the fifth annual The Asian Awards in London.
The actor was honoured to receive the prestigious accolade saying, "I'd like to thank the world for their inspiration".
In his speech Mr Shah Rukh Khan said, "I am extremely humbled and honoured to receive this award. I say this very often that my stardom belongs to most South East Asians who reside abroad who have made the Indian cinema and me known around the world. I congratulate all the winners at the Asian Awards as well. There is so much talent around Asia and so many achievers, whether is was Dr Amar Bose, the Hinduja Brothers or Zayn Malik. I am glad to have been a part of such a wonderful celebration of hard work by people in difference field but similar passion."

London, UK: Look, Shah Rukh Khan just added another feather to his hat.Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has been awarded the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Cinema award held at the fifth annual The Asian Awards at London's Grosvenor House Hotel.

On his achievement, Shah Rukh said, "I am extremely humbled and honoured to receive this award. I say this very often that my stardom belongs to most South East Asians who reside abroad who have made the Indian cinema and me known around the world. I congratulate all the winners at the Asian Awards as well. There is so much talent around Asia and so many achievers, whether is was Dr Amar Bose, the Hinduja Brothers or Zayn Malik. I am glad to have been a part of such a wonderful celebration of hard work by people in difference field but similar passion."
The Asian Awards saw many celebrities, dignitaries and influencers including Zayn Malik, Lydia Bright, Casey Batchelor, Ollie Locke, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Meera Syal, John Rocha, Michelle Collins, Nick Moran, Preeya Kalidas, Anna Williamson, Kelly Hoppen, Danielle Lineker, Anita Rani, Tasmin Lucia Khan, Colin Jackson, Cerys Matthews.
The event was hosted by fashion icon, Gok Wan.
The award for Outstanding Contribution to Sport went to Sri Lankan batsman Kumar Sangakkara, and the prize for Outstanding Achievement in Science & Technology went to Sir Tejinder Singh Virdee. The Outstanding Achievement in Television award went to comedian, actor and broadcaster, Sanjeev Bhaskar, while the Hinduja brothers were awarded as Business Leaders of the Year. Zayn Malik picked up the prize for Outstanding Contribution to Music.
For those who don't know, the Asian Awards celebrates the outstanding achievements of individuals born in or with direct origin from across Pan-Asia in all disciplines of life - from business and the arts, to sport and public service. Previous winners in the cinema category include, Irrfan Khan, Anupam Kher and Yash Chopra.
The awards have a prestigious panel of judges of key business people, cultural leaders and eminent political figures, led by the prominent Asian entrepreneur Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea. Judges include, Michelle Mone OBE, Philip Bernie, BBC's Head of Sport, Gurinder Chadha, Film Director and Matthew Freud, CEO Freud Communications.
The Asian Awards were launched in 2010 as the brainchild of Paul Sagoo, entrepreneur and Founder of the Lemon Group.
